What's new

AIR to double broadcast time for programmes in six languages

Wow. Who the listens to AIR anymore?! 😯
I do, every single day, on commute to work. Far better than any dumb down FM radio station which plays honey singh all day long. No bullshit ads and people discussing real stuff without exaggeration and stupid annoying ads.

AIR is good. It is like LSTV; discusses real matters with decency and puts out useful messages out rather than the fluff material we get on other channels and radio networks.

yup exactly . liked both RSTV and LSTV. havent watched them recently though (or any t.v for that mater). Sansad t.v is now RSTV ?? Why doesnot these new t.v/radio station model them on DD? i mean even them presents some ads but mannerism of presentation & content quality is so different. Pvt. radio channels don`t stick to point for more than 10 secs and even when they are interviewing something important they will interject something really stupid and unnecessary. not a single pvt radio station in my part of the country is worth listening , absolute bulldung.

DD News has the best presentation compared to everything else. They are clear, polite, have a balanced view and discuss topics in detail with the appropriately qualified experts on the panel. Private channels are a joke barring a handful.

On air broadcasts have ceased in favor of internet streaming live broadcasts and podcasts.

For example KPCC is the local National Pubic Radio (NPR) station which mostly streams on air (as well as on the FM band) nowadays.

So AIR does or does not do live internet streaming ? So 1980's...

Not concerned about AIR broadcast but to your comment in the bold......How may people in those far-flung remote areas have internet?......Services are provided in consideration to the audience/customers.....radio is more suited there,,,,,as not everyone there 1. either have internet, 2. Can't read/write....but everyone can listen and understand.

yeah , but the worry is that masses are listening, they are listening to these nonsense. There should be some kind of restrain in regards to content they broadcast. They are dumbing down everyone. I mean compare radio mirchi with that of NPR. Absolute embarrassment.

"Muh freedom!" is a big problem in India's media channels. There are no mandates and no red lines that they cannot cross. Consequently, private channels get to do anything. It is pathetic, but without government having the b@ll$ to draw those lines, nothing will change.

Very interesting. Radio Pakistan's shortwave broadcast has pretty much ceased.
So unfortunate of you brother

The actual use is them using this via their stations in Tajikistan to bombard a mix of songs and propaganda content into Afghanistan and Balochistan. So their folks on the ground will get them to tune into AIR for both propoganda news and instructions. Voice of America does the same thing - first few days of the conflict EC-130 commando solo IIs were pumping the airwaves with VoA until more permanent presence was established.

Radio Pakistan Twitter account , Facebook page is true Pakistani Foreign policy tool , They have blocked it now while investment has been made to modernize it as well .
