But i agree with @Guynextdoor2 ,,they wasted a fortune or more correctly they embezzled huge amount of money on the pretext of reviving the air india.

Its a known fact this carrier cannot be revived,saner thing would be to privatie it if any taker is available which i sincerely doubt would be considering its debt and performance ratio reaching near infinity

They should just privatize it. 'Shutting it down' will have a huge impact on the market. All other players will send up the fares because there will be sudden shortage of seats. I smell mischief here. I think this is a ploy to make the private aviation companies pocket more cash. Or else why won't they just privatize or sell it?

And as far as 'revival plans' are concerned. Big deal- they've been giving stupid revival plans for decades and been failing them.

AI will not be shutdown though chances are very high to privatize or sell it to other operators....
