What's new

Ahmadinejad proposes a regional alliance.

i dont understand one thing, iran is opposing saudis and arabs in the region, both are even fighting for the name of the gulf, how can they form the alliance, historical enmity is too much embedded in them

also Pakistan isnt in the middle east, i dont think Pakistan in the alliance of the middle would work for Pakistan or middle east

good luck though

Announcing such alliance will cast aspersions of threat in western world

The West "fearing" something means it's a good thing for us. They have thousands of nuclear wepons, why would they fear us? We have more reason to fear them.

We don't want no alliance with Iran terrorist supporters we should do everything to squash and crush them.

Any country is more trustworthy than Iran we caught them red handed supporting terrorists now we should starve them.

LOL, what the hell are you talking about? Turkey is supporting western backed terrorists in Syria. Stop lying and stop watching AKP controlled media! Erbakan (may he rest in peace) knew all along what AKP was all about; servants of western imperialism. Erdogan is working for the Zionist state and Western interests. Unfortunately, Iran is the only anti-imperialist Muslim state in the world. You must be completely blind if you cannot see this. Iran wants regional cooperation and integration without western influence.

The West/Israel (and their Turkish/Saudi/Qatari servants and puppets) are going to break Syria into several smaller states like they have done with Iraq. Then they will create a Kurdistan which is allied with Israel/the West. This Zionist plan was designed all the way back in 1982. America's "Greater Middle East Project and the Zionist project have the same goals and are essentially the same. Even if I posted tons of documented material and evidence you probably wouldn't believe it, I know.

As, long as it is deep rooted in capitalism, business, free trade, priority travel other aspects eventually will become irrelevant. European Union is a very good case study in this regard.

Such an arrangement is not a new idea but was discussed extensively between leaders like King Faisal, Bhutto, Reza Shah, Gamal Nasir, Abdullah 1 etc. The objectives are obvious, we share socioeconomic, cultural, religious, historic and geographic basics. Such an arrangement will focus on economy, trade and freedom of movement between countries. All of these countries have extensive energy, scientific and human resources which cannot be said about one single country. It is a win win because the proposed, member states, need to become economically competitive to keep up with the rest of the world. Open borders means more public interaction means more peace between nations.Countries like these, if they merge their resources can become a force to be reckoned with. Strategic alignment of the region will shift, as China rises as the new superpower,India becomes a regional powerhouse and the United States becomes energy independent of the Middle East.

Last but not least, there is a security aspect to it as well, because all of these countries need credible security mechanism which can be mutually achieved by combining forces and perhaps creating a mini NATO, for regional security with Pakistan providing the nuclear umbrella, and getting its place and chunk of commerce in return. Turkey can become, what it wants to after the EU is kicking it out every time. Saudis will see end to their rivalry with Iran and Egypt would have an entire continent backing it up for its diplomacy with Israel. So its a win win for all of our nations, However there is one reason why it wont be achieved now, and that is the time slot until our middle eastern friends earn their democracy from these western installed tyrants. A true alliance can only be forged, when its rooted amongst the people and what better way to do it than doing it through a democratic system and that wont happen until all of the middle east is unable to kick out these dictators and become democracies. So its not a matter of IF but When.

Cheers.

when a region in the world sees prosperity based on economic success every associated economy sees a boost. My reasons for seeing such an alliance albeit is selfish from my national stand point. My country shares good-ok relations with most of the countries in question and such alliance will open up a very big market for our economy.

The dictators and autocratic regime is some cases will wane out if not come to an arab spring (democracy is overrated anyways). The key irrespective of nature of regime is impetus to development, education and maintaining positive synergy with the rest of the world.

Another thing to consider is not really announcing any such alliance, instead using a phase gate project model, to develop result oriented developmental projects in bilateral and multilateral meets between the nations.

Planning 8-10 projects of cross linking separate chunks of economies within the nations and with rest of the world. This will ensure a robust system with embedded fail safes for transit and cashflow systems.

Interlinking banking systems of the member nation with US/BRICS/Euro without any need for third party arbitration is another important step.

Musharraf had already made such proposal in past and it was not a matter of interest, than.

Plans for Redrawing the Middle East: The Project for a “New Middle East”

The following path-breaking analysis was first published by Global Research in November of 2006

“Hegemony is as old as Mankind…” -Zbigniew Brzezinski, former U.S. National Security Advisor

The term “New Middle East” was introduced to the world in June 2006 in Tel Aviv by U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice (who was credited by the Western media for coining the term) in replacement of the older and more imposing term, the “Greater Middle East.”

This shift in foreign policy phraseology coincided with the inauguration of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) Oil Terminal in the Eastern Mediterranean. The term and conceptualization of the “New Middle East,” was subsequently heralded by the U.S. Secretary of State and the Israeli Prime Minister at the height of the Anglo-American sponsored Israeli siege of Lebanon. Prime Minister Olmert and Secretary Rice had informed the international media that a project for a “New Middle East” was being launched from Lebanon.

This announcement was a confirmation of an Anglo-American-Israeli “military roadmap” in the Middle East. This project, which has been in the planning stages for several years, consists in creating an arc of instability, chaos, and violence extending from Lebanon, Palestine, and Syria to Iraq, the Persian Gulf, Iran, and the borders of NATO-garrisoned Afghanistan.

The “New Middle East” project was introduced publicly by Washington and Tel Aviv with the expectation that Lebanon would be the pressure point for realigning the whole Middle East and thereby unleashing the forces of “constructive chaos.” This “constructive chaos” –which generates conditions of violence and warfare throughout the region– would in turn be used so that the United States, Britain, and Israel could redraw the map of the Middle East in accordance with their geo-strategic needs and objectives.

Kardeş, when the capitalism will start distributing its dividends amongst these countries the proxy warfare will end. Pakistan wants to have close relations with Turkey, its our long held geostrategic agenda. Such an arrangement will, reinvent our shared culture as well as making our countries richer and our people more prosper. Turkey is not getting into EU, so the best Idea is GCC+ECO = a new cooperation organization coming to life.

For, India it will be a historic economic opportunity and so will be for the countries in question + China. This may well become the key to our region's prosperity. I have had a long held conviction that interdependency creates peace.

....... Very difficult at the moment, the things he's say is different to what he's country doing.

Musharraf had already made such proposal in past and it was not a matter of interest, than.

All countries have shared interests It is not going to be an Islamic union but an economic and strategic union based on regional agenda.

Yes, there can be pipelines, highways, railways for trade, tourists and pilgrims. Next step could become, economic integration, single trading currency, education system..the possibilities go as far as the imagination does. The biggest plus would be achieving peace in the middle east and Asia.....................

A big no no on single currency system, It has more disadvantages than advantages in this context. The nations involved here are have vast difference in terms of economy, single currency will either overburden few states. Instead having a robust banking system that can deal with multiple currency is not that difficult.

First priority should be development and education last priority after successfully forming such alliance (which can take decades) is to entering the realm of strategic/mil conflict resolution stuff

I meant trading currency or bonds used to trade between nations which shouldn't be used as a sole currency between the member states. Or another great alternative can be, the currency swap deals.

Basics come, first indeed. If the foundations aren't strong enough such an alliance won't reach its full potential. I say all of these countries should stay away from, international politics, form a cooperative structure, build their economies and work for its people's prosperity. These countries are a far cry, from power projection and it will remain as such for some time to come.
