Because 1947 did not worked out well for us. Before 1947, we did not anticipate that Punjabi-Pashtuns would try to dominate and exploit us just because they would inherit the big fat army. May be it was not possible to convince the British+Congress to set up two different Muslim countries(which nullify the two nation theory). In such a case, it was wise to peacefully separate in 1950s. It would have saved us from much bad blood and bitterness to come. Due to Pakistani rulers injustice, atrocity and denial, it became much harder for any self-respecting Bangladeshi to become genuinely friendly with Pakistan. We remmber our holy prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.when He passed away he had 7 swords and one piece of clothe for himself He did not own nothing n if you know histoy. My dear brother , this is the exact thing I was trying to explain to your compatriots and to some of my compatriots , since ages.

But emotional people don't want to hear anything.

Their only aim is to all out attack against India.

I always thought that Bangladeshi people are more emotional, but I found that lots of Pakistanis are more emotional than Bangladeshis!

In the end if India invade us , China isn't going to send troops to help us directly.

So if we need to counter a full fledge attack from India , we need huge logistics for military.

But nowadays war can't be fought only with military , you need a very strong spy network to protect your country.

So I believe Bangladesh will focus on counter intelligence development alongside military and we need strong economy for this.

Once we will be balanced in both economically and Militarily , we don't have to rely on diplomacy only .

But not only our well wishers , but also some Mullah minded people of our own country always rant that why our Muslim army don't attack India .

Some Romantic citizen of Bangladesh even used to suggest to annex Arakan and establish independent Arakan. Although some of them changed their absurd point of view .

Believe me brother , these emotional Romantic citizens (arm chair generals) are the major problem for Bangladesh ( for any nation) .

If India is not attacking BD today when you acknowledge that BD is still weaker, why would India attack later?
