Across the world to the few people who do it, its essentially a easy excersices where they dont have to actually physically exert themselves get an excuse to wear spandex and is little more than glorified stretching

To be honest Yoga is more popular in West than in India. Yoga is popular in Urban centres, and as a form of medical treatment when prescibed by doctors. Other than that, it isnt have caught imagination, yet.

We are very concerned Indian art is highjacked by Western people and anyone with a 3 month course is granted a Yoga certificate. 3 months is no time to learn any art form. Need to regulate. Or else a bad name for Yoga.

I know Yoga is good, but I think I shall practise it when I am older

How you know if you don't have experience, i have done yoga from my instructors for 7 days and my weight before yoga was 70 kg and after a week it becomes 67 Kg.I eat regularly like before.I have severe pain inside chest during stretching backwards and after yoga there is no pain at all. My cholestrol level under control after yoga.By the way most of the people cholestrol level under control except few which are already very high.Those doing yoga are not fools especially those western people who are very health conscious particularly US.

that is the point I am sure there wont be mush followers of Yoga in India as well because in my opinion it is not basic amenity of life. An Indian member was accusing us of denying Yoga based on faith so i asked him the ratio of yoga followers in India.

Anyway here in pakistan the elite go for Yoga and their wives as a show off not for any mediation , poor cant afford these costly yoga classes anyway.
