After the Karachi attacks, it is clear that IS is itching to bring the fight from Iraq and Syria to Pakistan and Afghanistan. Nevertheless, we still treat what is going on in the Middle East right now as something which is isolated from us.

It was the Afghan war which gave birth to the global Islamist movement, with thousands of recruits from across the Muslim world arriving to fight against the Soviet Union. With the Soviet departure and the fall of Najibullah's, where did al those militants go? Checynya, Bosnia, Kashmir, Egypt, Sudan, and other hotspots in the world. Will Syria and Iraq be any different? When the Iraqi government falls, IS will focus on exporting its Jihadis across the world, and Afghanistan/Pakistan will definitely be a prospective place to revive the militancy.

With the events in the past in mind, if Pakistan doesn't take an active stance in crushing IS, one way or another, we will be suffering in the long run.

UPDATE:
Islamic State militants seize key areas in capital of Iraq’s largest province - The Washington Post
ISIS has just taken control of another Iraqi city and are another step closer to taking over Iraq.

Pakistan is the only nation which I guess have the legitimate reason to use it's N bomb on these namaloom afraads and hooligans if integrity is challenged.

Sane Governments keep revisiting their policies to challenge upcoming threats to modify according to the needs of the time, unlike Pakistan where everything happens post incident I don't see anyone capable of thinking out of the box and come up with a solid plan to cater needs, challenges and threats of next 25 years at least.

If we successfully crush the local wanna be IS to the point where they can never raise their heads again, then hopefully it would be difficult for IS to get a foothold in Pakistan. There is a dire need of uniting the Nation in these times but we are failing miserably to do so. We have a strong media but that hardly promotes Pakistaniat at all. We have leaders and religious figureheads who are hell bent on dividing us further on ethnic and religious lines. The threat is not IS establishing in Pakistan, its rather Pakistanis dividing into numerous militias themselves and someday asking IS to merge with them. Unite the Nation and may be we have a chance of strong opposition to any alien malicious organisation heading towards Pakistan.

But pakistan is busy in discovering the roots of terror from any other source except the real one.

Unfortunately with our budget, it is impossible to unite the country in a way that the insurgency is completely crushed. There are so many things we can do to prevent the insurgency (shut down madrassas, develop insurgency-hit areas, etc), but the problem is we do not have any money to do so.

What Pakistan need to do is to change the concept of security state to Welfare state. Pakistan does not face any real threat so that you will have to make your state a security state.Develop confidence of people in state and its Judiciary. Give them correct education. I yesterday watched a video of a yoga class in Pakistan. This type of activities should be promoted. The fake conspiracy theory specialist need to be kept away from media.

We were ready to survive just eating the grass, there was a motivation and will behind getting nukes. We do have enough money but the will is not there. Confiscate assets of the known culprits if you have to, but who is going to do that, who is going to make people accountable for illogical huge wealth increases. Another one of biggest problem is lack of ranked priorities at our policy making level, and if we somehow ever get some positive development in that area it is shot down by useless political opposition.

Take steps to remove the trust deficit of people on government and you will see Pakistanis themselves contributing with open hearts. But if it is still going to be the same old "Qarz Utaro Mulk Sanwaro" scheme then nothing is going to happen or change.

Don't you find that pamphlet dubious?

I also demand accountability and better prioritization, but this can only be achieved in the long run. An accountable government is not built in a day.

Who else could it be? Which groups have been massacring Shias for the last few years? It might not be IS, but it's definitely a group inspired by IS.

Rao Anwar is mentioned in this letter - so whoever is involved is hurt with Rao Anwar's actions.

But I find this person perfectly sane and willing to eliminate terrorism from the country. He is the one who named RAW and its connections with MQM terrorists.
