So, in a sense, both the Uyghurs and Hans are invaders into north Xinjiang. That still doesn't change the fact that the Uyghurs are being displaced and face racial discrimination.

That's not really right either. Han Chinese have dominated Eastern Xinjiang for the longest time and moved there when no one lived in the region. In fact they built up the water system to make it habitable. Once the Chinese put in all the work to keep the trade route and invited their allies to live there, nomads moved in, murdered or chased off the peaceful migrants that lived there and set up camp. Can you say that's fair, at all?

The Uyghur are not being displaced at all. The Han Chinese are being moved into Eastern Xinjiang to cities built by Han Emperors on land that was never used by anyone. They had to do this because in the 1800s the Uyghur killed all the Chinese Muslims that lived there, or chased them into Russia.
