Afghan Taliban and US deal is almost there

Wonder what the Taliban will do to the American backed government in Afghanistan when America pulls out.

Super power beaters are begging for the bailout packages...:D

At least when Pakistan makes a deal to jointly develop and manufacture fighter jets, it gets it done right. Whereas india, the largest military hardware importer in the world, spends a decade on the MMRCA, and can't get it right. Needless to say, that for the Flankers, india dragged it's feet for (again) a decade before reaching some sort of deal on MRO, despite assembling the aircraft in country.

Don't yap while walking on egg shells.

I don't see peace coming to Afghanistan in foreseeable future. People just know Taliban and NDS while there are other stakeholders as well. Indo-Pak dimension has also been added into the equation...

May the powerful have mercy on people of region and beyond.

Good. Afghanistan needs peace more than any other country.
But The deal should have following conditions for Taliban:

1) Total ceasefire and joining a peaceful political process by Taliban. Only way they can come to power sharing is through democratic process.

2) No support to terrorism.

3) They ahould agree to presence of 4000-5000 NATO forces to assist Afghan foces in training anand capacity building

4) Stop opium production.

Unfortunately, the world doesn't operate on idealistic principles.

1.) The "democratic" process is a.) no guarantee for progress (as the growth rates of China, Singapore and many other similar countries without representative democracy shows) and b.) fundamentally flawed in Afghanistan where a tiny percentage of the population comes out to vote (therefore the government is not really "representative" of the majority.)

2.) Terrorism is relative. To many civilian drone victims who just happened to be in the vicinity of a "probable terrorist" (neighbors, bystanders, etc.), drone strikes are terrorism. To the Indian government, the freedom struggle of the Kashmiris is terrorism. To Kashmiris, Indian authoritarian rule in a UN-recognized disputed territory is terrorism.

3.) Afghan Forces are essentially a joke. These same forces have killed many, including a US General, in insider attacks. Every geostrategist knows that the reason the US wants a few thousand spec ops forces in Afg is too have a presence in a transnational trade route of global significance.

4.) Again, there is a double standard here. The US selectively allowed its favored warlords to indulge in production and in some cases its own personnel / contractors were found doing the same. The US also has a colored history of cocaine smuggling via the CIA in South/Central America. Is there another crop that can give them a similar yield/$ per acre? I don't support opium production --- but I also don't support fantasies.

The reality is that the NDS and CIA had given R&AW a free hand against Pakistan from Afg soil. Pak will ensure this ends. This means a huge investment in time, personnel and treasure going down the drain for India.

Super power beaters are begging for the bailout packages...:D

Superpower was beaten (or, to use better phrasing, its objectives frustrated) by designs and operations of our intelligence community.

The loans and lack of sound fiscal / economic policies were the result of a corrupt and incompetent civilian government.

Conclusion: a country can be a "superpower beater" and still need loans.

When u.s has removed taliban from military power why they demand them to come to power using political method .U.s would not have removed them by military power and used political method to remove them from power so little hope that taliban will giveup weapons and military struggle

Hope for the better future for Afghans , so they can finally go back to their country and help it build again into a strong and prosperous nation.

One thing we all need to understand - as a rule of thumb, NEVER believe in anything that appears on the Media. The Truth is always the opposite.

This is the satanic world of deception that we are living in today.

I just want Pakistan to wash their hands from this mess, finish the border fencing and get on with improving the economy.
