Islamabad: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has on Saturday said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif will not come back once he would leave Pakistan for medical treatment, GNN reported.
Fawad Chaudhry took to Twitter and said, " The written affidavit submitted by the Nawaz Sharif's counsel assured only one thing that former premier will not come back."
"The federal government's lawyers' stance is legitimate and legally valid", he added.
It is pertinent to remember that a two-member bench of Lahore High Court, headed by Justice Ali Baqir Najafi and comprising of Justice Sardar Ahmad Naeem is currently hearing a plea seeking removal of former premier Nawaz Sharif’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif has submitted a written affidavit in the Lahore High Court assuring the return of former premier Nawaz Sharif after receiving medical treatment abroad. However, the federal government raised objection over the affidavit and decided to oppose it in the court.
