What's new

"AERO INDIA 2015"

If we induct AMCA on 2040 it will be converted as 6th gen features. Like look at our LCA today it has best EW suite , best jammer and head up display many many new features influenced by 4th gen fighter technology. Because Tejas may have been delayed but the technology was been upgraded to the latest . It's the only way we can create things. Old parts are not easy to procure. So its easy to replace their technology with present one .

Same way If 6th gen are as common as today's 4th gen our AMCA will have lots of 6th gen technologies. It's common sense. So not to worry . But I will also be happy to see AMCA flying by 2020 and inducted by 2024 . -_-

OK.

Even DRDO saying that AMCA gonna come around 2030! Its never possible by 2024.

I expect some stunning acrobats from Tejas as the flight envelop is further opened to 26*AOA and G limit opened to 7+.

Will surely be going this time around - vip passes.

DRDO To Showcase Wheeled UAV At Aero India 2015

Panchi, Wheeled UAV

Indian Defense Research Development Organization (DRDO)'s in-service surveillance drone, Panchi will be showcased in the upcoming Aero India Airshow commencing from 18-22 Feb 2015.

The UAV currently available with the the Army is an un-wheeled version launched from a pneumatic rail launcher and uses a parachute drop system for recovery.

With the expansion of airfield infrastructure, including in forward areas, both services, along with agencies under the Home Ministry, have expressed the need for autonomous wheeled drones, SPS Aviation reported January 28.

The DRDO has been asked by the Army and IAF to build better surveillance payloads for the Nishant/Panchi and to concentrate on longer endurance versions of the vehicle in an Mk.2 configuration.

The Army and IAF feel that the rail launcher is convenient in terms of recovery but presents large logistical footprint for rapid operations, especially when airfield infrastructure is available.

The IAF is also waiting for the first flight of the Rustom 2 medium altitude long endurance (MALE) UAV that the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) had promised will take place this year.

While the February deadline is likely to be missed, it could happen any time after June. The ADE and NAL are also expected to announce progress on their respective mini and micro drone programs that include possible contracts with police services and agencies under the Ministry of Home Affairs that have evinced interest in tactical systems.

Pilatus PC 12 NG Aircraft

Pilatus will showcase their next generation aircraft, the PC-12 NG at Aero India 2015, scheduled to be held between February 18 and 22 at Bengaluru.

The latest upgrade of the popular PC-12 has exciting new features to make the 2014/2015 PC-12 NG the best PC-12 to date.

The Pilatus PC-12 is the turbine-powered aircraft which has been in operation round the globe in a number of roles like executive transport, cargo, air-ambulance, airline, and government special mission applications.

Last year, the company launched the upgraded version, 2014 PC-12 NG, which has all the hallmarks of outstanding versatility, performance, and operational flexibility and incorporates new technology and a host of added features.

The new features added in 2014 PC-12 NG includes six new BMW Design works, USA executive interior options, a new electric landing gear system, external LED lighting, a wireless Connected Flight Deck system, and a Wi-Fi passenger entertainment system.

The response to the PC-12 NG as a business aircraft has been unprecedented and the showcase at Aero India 2015 is expected to give it an additional boost.

The turboprop has short runway performance and is approved to land on any kind of runway. Business visitors to the Airshow are bound to appreciate that the PC-12 NG is more efficient than its jet counterparts burning up to 40% less fuel per hour. That means less cost and less carbon footprint without sacrificing comfort.

The PC-12 NG completed the 1,300th delivery last year.

USAF to display F-15, F-16 at Aero India

F-15-600-x-336.jpg

The US Air Force will be sending two F-15 and one F-16 aircraft to Aero India 2015 to be held in Bangalore from February 18.

The Boeing F-15 Strike Eagle aircraft will fly from Kadena in Japan for what will be their first appearance at the Indian air show. F-15C aircraft have flown earlier in Indian skies, notably during the 2004 Cope India joint exercise held between the US Air Force and the Indian Air Force at Gwalior.

The US Air Force is also sending a single Lockheed Martin F-16 aircraft, which was one of the two US contenders for the Indian Air Force tender for the 126 Medium Multi Role Combat Aircraft (MMRCA), besides the Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet.

In addition to these, the US will be flying in a US Air Force C-17 Globemaster III, a US Navy P-8A Poseidon and a KC-135 aircraft.

The Indian Air Force already operates the Boeing C-17, while the Indian Navy operates the Boeing P-8I Long Range Maritime Reconnaissance (LRMR) aircraft.

The US is also planning to send a US Army Special Forces parachute display team to Aero India 2015.

Meanwhile, the French are planning to send in the winner of the six-contestant MMRCA competition, with three Rafale aircraft expected to display at the air show.

At the end of 2014, Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parikkar had broached the possibility of India ordering more Russian Sukhoi-30MKI aircraft, in case negotiations with Dassault for the Rafale aircraft fell through, after reports that the deal was in difficulty.

Airbus Group plans major presence at Aero India 2015

From commercial and military aircraft to helicopters and radars, Airbus Group will present a wide range of cutting-edge products and technologies at the 10th edition of Aero India from 18 – 22 February 2015 at the Air Force Station Yelahanka, Bengaluru.

The focus of Airbus Group’s participation in the show would be to highlight its strong footprint in India and commitment to the Indian Government’s ‘Make in India’ campaign. “We have been used to partnerships in India as is shown by our long standing collaborations with several Indian public and private companies as well as R&D organizations and academic institutions. We are enthusiastic about the ‘Make in India’ campaign and are ready to leverage our existing local partnerships and invest in new ones to make the most of it. Aero India offers the perfect setting to discuss our plans to make in India with various stakeholders. We look forward to our participation in the show,” said Yves Guillaume, President – India, Airbus Group.

On display at the Group’s pavilion (no OD8) in front of Hall C, will be scale models of the world’s most spacious passenger aircraft – A380 and the fuel efficient A320neo. Also on exhibition will be scale models of the A330MRTT mid-air refueller which has been selected by the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the C295 transport aircraft which has been offered to India, in partnership with Tata, for the Avro replacement programme. Two ‘Made-in-India’ products – High Accuracy Air Pressure Measurement System and Structurally Integrated Antenna – are also going to be part of the display line up. Both these products have been developed at the Airbus Defence and Space engineering centre in Bengaluru.

A model of the EC725 which recently underwent Field Evaluation Trials (FETs) for the Indian Coast Guard’s tender for 14 shore-based helicopters is going to be on exhibition too. The EC725, fitted with the relevant weaponry and sensor suites, can perfectly meet the Indian Navy’s 120+ Naval Multirole Helicopter (NMRH) programme requirements and the Indian Army’s 150+ Tactical Transport Helicopters’ fleet expansion plan. In addition, there will be models of the AS550 C3e Fennec and the AS565 MBe Panther. The Fennec is foreseen for the Indian Army’s and Air Force’s Reconnaissance & Surveillance Helicopter (RSH) campaign which was recently re-started under the ‘Buy and Make (Indian)’ category whereas the AS565 MBe Panther fits the requirements of India’s Naval Utility Helicopter (NUH) programme which envisages acquisition of around 100 units. On the civil helicopter side, scale model of the single-engine EC130 T2 will be showcased.

Scale models of TANAN unmanned aircraft system, SPEXER 2000 border / coastal surveillance radar, MILDS missile warning system and TRS-3D multi-mode surveillance & target acquisition radar will also be presented. In addition, information on the Group’s border security solutions, Maritime Satellite Services and GEO Intelligence Imagery & Net management System will be available at the stand.

On the last two days of the show, the Group will organize a recruitment fair at its pavilion for experienced aviation engineers. Airbus is looking for engineers with post-graduation or more for open positions in Avionics, Structural Analysis and Repair Approvals. HR representatives from the company will be available at the fair to meet interested candidates, review their CVs and guide them on the selection process.
