Normally I do not hesitate to jump on people who attack Aafia, but I notice that the author of this article cited only an interview given at an unnamed time and place to an unnamed reporter and published by an unnamed foreign news service on an unnamed date. It's hard to take anything in this seriously.

In the comments following that article Malala's father denies making those statements. In the following report he again denies making those statements.

Wrong. Officers and soldiers of PA don't get enough salary to have a luxuries life, they get enough pay for survival, with other fringe benefits. However, this would work with the media. thats complete bs, our soldiers would never do that, we have baygharats in pakistan but our soldiers aren't one of them, thats of of the benefits of having an "islam leaning army".
my uncles were in the army, they would rather die then be disgraced. honor is a big deal pakistan. but we have tons of baygharats like najam sethi and asthma janghir as well.

Freedom of speech does not mean that you can say anything against your country and its Armed Forces .. No country in the world allows that .. It happens only in Pakistan that people speak openly against Army and Media is always busy in negative propaganda against our own Army . IT IS A CRIME . Freedom of speech and expression is subject to certain restrictions ..

Because he is the father of the girl who 'lived', despite being attacked by the one who must not be named!

Thats how the whole family is making a living. But this doesn't mean Malala is not the nations pride, everybody has the right to express their opinion and criticize the Army, the country and its policies.

There is criticism......and then there is outright tyranny!

I hope my fellow countrymen begin to understand the difference, and quickly.
