Hi folks.

Since starting my work to shorten the war on terror, i've talked with many people online about many wars fought long ago or recently, and i've listened to many conspiracy theories.

Let me offer humanity something that may strike some as something as weird as a conspiracy theory, but quite beautiful really, a future for humanity in which we hardly or not at all, fight other humans to the death.

I've had to accept that my own NATO governments are indeed responsible for fostering what have now become terror groups. This is known in government circles as "choosing between the lesser of 2 evils", but it also creates a perpetual circle, a vicious circle even, of violence. I hope i don't have to point out that violence is never OK if it hits *your* family or loved ones.

We in developed countries produce goods based on natural resources from "less developed countries". So our governments *require* those natural resources, even at the cost of blood spilled.

The major superpowers of Earth, are currently in a state of cold war against eachother, in which they use proxy wars in smaller countries around earth to potentially for ever keep fighting eachother. The battles for control over natural resources that we see in the Middle East and Africa are only the most obvious aspects of government-organized violence on earth.

So what other aspects of violence initiated by (major) governments are we missing?

{1} the demonization of other superpowers that many government leaders too regularly use for domestic political gains (a vicious cycle in itself), breeds support and (false) understanding for future large but contained conflicts between these superpowers.

{2} the recent (last 50 to 70 years) tendency by government leaders of superpowers to fight out conflicts with other superpowers in "proxy countries" - smaller countries around the world that are used as a battle scene for a prolonged period of time.

{3} the tendency of some governments of smaller but natural-resource-rich countries to enrich only themselves to ridiculous levels (compared to their countrymen and women), or to enrich only their own tribe, and thus obviously not caring about sharing the wealth with *all* of their country-men and -women) so future conflicts (based on honerable resentment of this greed by the rulers) can be avoided.

{4} the need for any military to have an enemy that they do "occasionally" fight "a bit", and thus eat up too large a portion of the tax income for too many countries.

So that "choice between the lesser of 2 evils", the choice to get to natural resources or secure the travel routes of natural resources, and thus install some puppet government in a resource rich or strategically important country, and then face a "terror group" (against the country/countries that installed the puppet government) 10 or 20 years later from the ranks of the same puppet government, that is now explained (to all that can do something about it).

We start, strangely enough, at the need for the military to stay in business. And if you'd take this literally, the militaries of earth wouldn't be considered evil by so many if they wouldn't fight other humans to the death so often, because the militaries of earth can practice their war skills in wargames, and gain the funding they need through space mining.

There's an asteroid belt just beyond the reach of Mars that is already prospected (see 3D Interactive Asteroid Space Visualization - Asterank to be worth beyond trillions USD in natural resources that are useful on Earth.

The defense industry as a whole, the manufacturing of weapons done by private and stockmarket-listed enterprise, could easily gain the money they need if they'd hop, be allowed to hop, onto the space mining train. Early on.
That frees up much money from tax income to improve citizens' lives, with which politicians could see themselves re-elected over and over again.

Furthermore, once in space, the military can practice in space mining (vaporizing asteroid resources with space lasers, then sucking 'm up with a large space-vacuum-cleaner, for instance) with the high-energy machines they'd also need to defend humanity from any evil space aliens bent on conquest of our solar system and us.

Back on earth, together with {5}, this solves {4}.

{5} : while the space mining industry should be embraced by all countries, and with the news at Lockheed announces major breakthrough in nuclear fusion providing not just the energy required for space mining (making it realistic not too long from now), but also for usage on earth, making oil potentially worthless within a few years/decades(see {6}), this does not need to mean armaggeddon by high-powered wars for earth, nor announce nor facilitate the arrival of the anti-christ. It could well produce ten-thousand years or more of peace and prosperity on earth and in our solar system colonized by us humans, if properly and attentively managed as part of the whole.

{6} if all goes well, Lockheed and Skunk Works will be motivated and ordered to license out the fusion powertech they're creating for a more than reasonable price.

The energy crisis, the economic crisis, and several other crises solved, we're left with {1}, {2}, and {3}.

Now that the superpowers no longer need to secure trade routes(see {7}) or natural resources in countries that have proven aggressive against or after attempts to install foreign-controlled puppet regimes, they could leave these countries to the whims of their domestic corrupt leaders.

But the superpowers could well collectively and united police the world after the natural resources wars have ended. I suggest they do because they have a moral obligation, and without seeing themselves as better than other humans, preferably.

{7} all natural resources can be found on asteroids in our own solar system, the asteroids just beyond the range of Mars.

{7.1} coal, oil, and even natural gas being too polluting to use in a fusion powered world anyways.

{7.2} solar power being a speck of water on the boiling plate of fusion power and way to cumbersome to use in comparison.

{7.2.1} there will be some money still in things like dung and compost heating water to heat homes, but don't count on green energy to be where the money will be at.

Ofcourse, there are the water wars upcoming too. Evil politicians trying to engineer yet another 'good reason to go to war with another country'. Fact is evaporation even on sunlight is possible for seawater in most hot deserts of earth. With a bit of (longdistance) plumbing, the water crisis AND the food crisis can be solved.

I rest my case here.
It's your choice, politicians. And sorry to remind you : *you* are responsible for the fate of humanity at this kinda important crossroad in history.

but quite beautiful really, a future for humanity in which we hardly or not at all, fight other humans to the death.

in other words, a communist future... without militaries, governments and money...

There's an asteroid belt just beyond the reach of Mars that is already prospected

yes... but should be without money system and its consequent economic inequalities.

6} if all goes well, Lockheed and Skunk Works will be motivated and ordered to license out the fusion powertech they're creating for a more than reasonable price.

there is only one fusion that may be realizable... inertial confinement fusion ( icf )... ( Laser Fusion: The Uncertain Road to Ignition | Optics & Photonics News )...
"With the invention and advance of laser technology, however, another possible method for achieving fusion came to light. Inertial confinement fusion involves the heating of frozen micrograms of deuterium and tritium, generally with high-power lasers, to drive the fusion reaction that would lead to ignition."

such a machine, when made portable ( fridge-size ), will help when power is needed for very big machines ( water ships, space ships ).
