I wouldn't mix caste issues with religious issues. These two beasts are extremely different. Its just that religion has overtaken the caste problems the world over. Only in this small area are we seeing that caste issues are still strong. It also does not help it being the 2nd largest economic powerhouse state of India. In short this area has still not evolved in its discrimination standards and once it does then next in line would be religious discrimination.

I am talking about the article in the OP, a drunk man kills another person and all of a sudden it's anti dalit oppression. Did you not hear about how a drunk man killed a toll booth operator over 10/20 rupees? What if someone mentioned the dead guys' caste and label it as "A UPPER CASTE man kills a DALIT TOLL BOOTH OPERATOR for asking him to pay the toll".
