Pakistan: 60% of UAE-funded hospital complete
The hospital is a 50-bed facility dedicated to the treatment of women, children and the elderly

  • Peshawar: Upon the directives of President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to provide support, humanitarian and developmental aid for Pakistan, the Emirati Project to Assist Pakistan announced the completion of 60 per cent of a $5 million (Dh18 million) hospital in Shulam area of South Waziristan, Pakistan.

The hospital is named the Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Hospital and is located in the South of Wazirstan.

The Emirati Project to Assist Pakistan management said that working to complete this vital health project is part of the directives of Shaikh Khalifa, in light of his keenness to develop infrastructure and improve the medical, health and social aspects of the local population.

The hospital has a special importance, since it is named after Shaikha Fatima, chairwoman of the women’s general union, supreme chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF) and president of the supreme council for motherhood and childhood.

It will also be the newest and first-of-its-kind hospital that would provide medical services in the Wazirstan area.

The Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Hospital in South Waziristan is a 50-bed facility dedicated to the treatment of women, children and the elderly in an area with inadequate health care.

The Hospital is built on a 4,330 square-metre plot of land. The population of the area expressed their appreciation and thanks to the UAE’s humanitarian initiatives towards their country, stressing the Shaikh Fatima Bin Mubarak Hospital would be a big qualitative leap for health institutions in the region and province.
