No, the later is not true India's reliance on foreign remittance is much much smaller in the economy around some $70 billions. But it's still relevant.
For China the export to US is still in hundreds of billions and the effect of any moves by US to undermine China will have a rippling effect on Chinese economy. You like it or not.
