@Major Shaheb SU30 is not a good option for us for obvious reasons. Infact anything russian
is not good but we don't have many options either. I think mig29 is the best option for us considering the fact that BAF is used to maintaining this for over a decade. But we urgently need to diversify
our source by may be offering a tender to major companies like saab, boeing, L.Martin and chinese
(chendu J10)/JF17.
it should have been either gripen,
F-16,
jf-17
or mig 29(as they already have few)..

adding su 30 will be another headache..dont know what policy makers think

. .
I realize that the helos. will be purchased. But i could not recall where it was mentioned. Major, can you provide the link.

Cheers!!!

Radar:

KLJ-6F Fire control radar:
The dimention of the radar is same as KLJ-6E but search, track and attack range has been improoved heavily. KLJ-6F is a BVR capable radar with a range of 86km and it can track upto 6 and engage 2.

@ Major Shaheb - Do you know if the F7-BGI will carry the SD-10 BVR?

1) Many have contradicted a BVR option for F-7BGI by saying its nose is too small to install one. So, is it correct or should we trust your statement that it is BVR capable that can see multiple targets 86 km away and shoot at two targets simultaneously (probably when these are little closer, say 30 or 40 km away). So, is it possible that BGI plane will look quite different with a long nose and consequently a changed structure?

2) WP-14C Kunlun 3 engines have a thrust of 8,360kg. It is almost same as the thrust of JF-17 at 8,700kgf. However JF achieves this thrust at the take off stage when the air is thick. One question about F-7BGI needs to be answered. Is also its thrust of 8,360 kg achieved when in thick air at take off stage?

60 km away. The air frame remains the same. In fact it is based on latest J-7G2.

The PLAAF and PLAN J-8Fs are already using WP-14C engines and are proven to be very capable.

What's the use of the radar installed in Botanical Garden, Mirpur? Is it still operative or just standing idle there?

Mejor Shaheb I could not see the pic of F-7BGI. Could you do something?

1. A major procurement has to be worked out backward from two principal factors, beside others:

a. A careful identification of the major potential threat - and subsidiary threats.
b. Adoption of a Doctrine in the light of history, geographical conditions, national values, culture, economics, etc that is acceptable to the people who will adhere by it spontaneously.

2. I have doubts this list has been worked out in that manner. Perhaps kickbacks to the political cronies of the Govt have been the major factor. In BD the military high command isn't very high as in Pakistan. Political pressure on the BD military high command is pretty pronounced. I heard rumors that the Indian DA at Dhaka was first presented the list for vetting.
