God Bless Pakistan..and may we acquire enough nukes to deter any adversary from adventure..

God..why are you guyz so obsessed with nukes. A weapon prolly made by Satan which could kill millions in seconds and cause the suffering of millions for over several decades.
Only you could call someone "father of nukes" proudly ..no other country has an named their lead scientist like that..

we still remember the proudy and arrogant tone of India and Indians during the days when Indian tested its nuclear bomb in 1998 and Pakistan wasn't yet a nuclear power.

This day is remembered as a day of relief and called Youm-e-Takbeer but you prolly won't understand it. In short, we aren't celebrating this disastrous bomb lol

Whos talking!!!!!!!!!!!

Who first tested Nukes....India.
Who ever first envolved in the race of weapons......India.
So who is Shatan.... :D

Now Y the day is important for us, boz we responded to all those (included India) who were planning to attempt against PAK after Indian nukes test.

Rewind ur memory and consult google u will find

1) In the afternoon of Monday, 11 May 1998 Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee stunned the world by announcing at a hurriedly convened press conference that earlier that day India had conducted three nuclear tests. International observers were, if anything, even more astonished by the announcement two days later that two additional tests had been conducted.

2) India conducted total 5 tests.

3)India's test created an untenable situation (Who created problems & unstability in region, ofcourse thats India) for Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif. In the wake of India's tests, Pakistan felt an urgent need to demonstrate its own prowess in a similar manner for many reasons - to deny India unilateral technical advantage it might have gained from conducting tests; to restore a sense of a balance-of-power with India in the eyes of itself, India, and the world; et cetera

4)Pressure builded on Pakistan....

5)India and Israeel planned to destroy Kahota.

6)Clinton President Clinton telephone Sharif and urged him not to go ahead with a test.

7) Miltary forces recommanded to make tests else India will create problems. (India was unaware abt PAK nuke capability), According to miltary we might go in a war.....to bring peace in region batter to test nukes and make the region balance. Pakistan's army informed Sharif that it will be ready "within a week" to conduct an underground nuclear test on 24 hours' notice.

8)Over the weekend Sharif consulted with various parties and factions, and remained under enormous pressure to test. Meanwhile public reaction continued to favor an immediate response. Former PM Benazir Bhutto advocated not only an immediate nuclear test by Pakistan, but also asserted that India should be disarmed by a preemptive attack, and called on Sharif to resign.

9) Pakistan nation was united on a single decission

10)Meanwhile the US worked on putting together an incentive package to Pakistan to persuade it not to test. The repeal of the Pressler amendment that cut off military aid was offered, as was delivery of $600 million dollars worth of F-16 fighter-bombers that Pakistan had ordered and paid for but never received. Discussions also began on how much aid to offer Pakistan on top of these concessions.

11)On 18 May 1998, the Chairman of the PAEC was again summoned to the Prime Minister House where he was relayed the decision of the DCC. "Dhamaka kar dein" (Conduct the explosion) were the exact words used by the Prime Minister to inform him of the Government’s decision to conduct the nuclear tests.

12)On 19 May 1998, two teams of 140 PAEC scientists, engineers and technicians left for Chagai, Baluchistan on two separate PIA Boeing 737 flights. Also on board were teams from the Wah Group, the Theoretical Group, the Directorate of Technical Development (DTD) and the Diagnostics Group. Some of the men and equipment were transported via road using NLC trucks escorted by the members of the Special Services Group (SSG), the elite commando force of the Pakistan Army.

13)Nuclear devices - in sub-assembly form - were flown from Rawalpindi to a designated airfield in Baluchistan (Quetta?) on a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) C-130 Hercules transport aircraft (it is curious that so many would all be entrusted to a single aircraft though). Four PAF F-16s armed with air-to-air missiles provided escort.

14)Late in the day on 27 May the U.S. government reported that Pakistan had been observed pouring cement in a test shaft in the Chagai Hills. This indicated that nuclear test devices were being sealed in, which is the final necessary step before conducting nuclear tests. Officials then predicted that tests could occur within hours.

15)Pres. Bill Clinton made a last-minute plea to Sharif, Wednesday night. According to presidential spokesman Mike McCurry it was a "very intense" 25-minute call in which the president implored the prime minister not to conduct a test. It was the fourth presidential call to Sharif since India's first explosion on May 11. But the test time had been set - 3:00 p.m. in the afternoon of 28 May 1998.

16)In the pre-dawn hours of 28 May Pakistan cut the communication links for all Pakistani seismic stations to the outside world. All military and strategic installations in Pakistan were put on alert, and the Pakistan Air Force F-16A and F-7MP air defense fighters were placed on strip alert - ready to begin their take-off roll at any moment.

17)On 28 May at 15:00 UCT Prime Minister Sharif began his televised address with the statement:
"Today, we have settled a score and have carried out five successful nuclear tests."
In a later address to Pakistani and foreign reporters, Sharif said:
"Pakistan today successfully conducted five nuclear tests. The results were as expected. There was no release of radioactivity. I congratulate all Pakistani scientists, engineers and technicians for their dedicated team work and expertise in mastering complex and advanced technologies. The entire nation takes justifiable pride in the accomplishments of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, Dr. A.Q. Khan Research Laboratories and all affiliated Organizations... Our security, and the peace and stability of the entire region, was gravely threatened. As any self-respecting nation, we had no choice left for us. Our hand was forced by the present Indian leadership's reckless actions. We could not ignore the magnitude of the threat... Under no circumstances would the Pakistani nation compromise on matters pertaining to its life and existence. Our decision to exercise the nuclear option has been taken in the interest of national self-defence. These weapons are to deter aggression, whether nuclear or conventional."

Another thing shldnt be ignore here
In the backdrop of the above scenario, it was, therefore, not
surprising that in the aftermath of the Indian nuclear tests of 13 May
1998, Pakistan felt that there was a strong possibility of a joint
Indo-Israeli strike against Pakistan’s nuclear installations.
The PAF
had an essential role to play in defending Pakistan’s strategic
installations and airspace to thwart any such plan. The tensions were
so high that a PAF F-16 flying low over the Ras Koh test site in the
Chagai District of Balochistan on the eve of the Pakistani nuclear
tests was, for a moment, mistaken by the personnel on the ground, to be
an Israeli warplane. The incident sparked off a diplomatic squabble
between Pakistan and Israel, with the Israeli Ambassador in Washington
D.C. denying the existence of any such plan.

Then Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Ahmed Kamal told CNN
that Pakistan had reliable information about Indian intentions to
launch air strikes against Pakistan’s nuclear test facilities. Kamal
told CNN that if India strikes, Pakistan’s response would be “massive”
and would “bode ill for peace.”

“We’re involved in this threat and in making sure that it does not
arise because if it does, the world must understand that Pakistan is
ready, that it will react, that the reaction will be massive and
dissuasive,
and that it would lead us into a situation which would bode
ill for peace and security, not only in the region, but beyond,” Kamal
said.

As soon as the decision to conduct the nuclear tests had been taken,
the PAF was ordered to assume air defence duties over Chagai and the
strategic nuclear installations of Pakistan, including Kahuta, Nilore,
Fatehjung, Chashma, Khushab and Karachi.

true indeed.. :rofl::rofl::rofl:

some times i start feeling that indians need to check there mentality level first they test nuclear weapons and even offeres Isreal help so he can destroy our nuclear weapons as we all know what happend in1984 and 1998 and threatns us after test and than when we puch on there face they start crying out like babies:sniper:

Youm-e-Takbeer Mubarak Everyone!!!!!

I'm so glad that Pakistan is a Nuclear Power. If it wasn't then US would've probably invaded Pakistan like it invaded Afghanistan and Iraq.

yom e taqbeer mubarik.
Thank A.Q Khan

Do remember that A.Q Khan was part of a very large group of scientists and many members of different agencies, a few even played a much more important part than A.Q Khan.

Dr. Abdul Salam and Munir Ahmed were the real brain behind Pakistan's venture into advanced R&D, these individuals were involved in the nuclear development since the 60s but it was the vision of Zulfiqar Bhutto which finally permitted the Pakistani scientists to proceed with the Plutonium based design.

Dr. A.Q khan stepped in the 70s and offered his expertise in development of a uranium based program.

The PAEC (under Munir ahmed) and KRL (under A.Q Khan) were two alternate routes to develop a nuclear weapon, however the actual weapon production and testing was in the domain of PAEC which was a much senior branch.
Despite multiple attempts, KRL was not allowed to have end to end domain from development to actual manufacturing of complete weapon, this responsibility rested with PAEC.

The tests in Chagai were carried out by PAEC but upon A.Q's repeated meetings with the premier, the uranium based weapon was also tested, however the plutonium based weapon was much more powerful.

Munir Ahmed Khan in being a close friend of Bhutto was deliberately sidelined by Zia and his thugs in terms of media coverage as opposed to A Q Khan who seems to get all the credit.

Munir Ahmed Khan is the godfather of our nuclear program but we hear next to no mention of his name.
Dr. Abdul Salaam was the mentor of all the Pakistani scientists in the fields of advanced mathematics and physics and his legacy is also forgotten.

A Q Khan played a very important role but he was projected too much and more deserving names have been sidelined.

My request is to remember all the heroes who gave it all to make Pakistan stronger.
Please read about the great names who made this possible and yet for one reason or another have been ignored in favor of just one name which got more attention.
It was not a one man show.

Thanks Abdul Salaam, Thanks Munir Ahmed Khan, thanks to many unsung heroes who even gave their lives in the process and ofcourse thanks to A.Q khan as well.
Most of all, thanks to Bhutto who listened to Munir and Abdul Salaam and changed the previous policy of Ayub which was not in favor of a nuclear program.
Bhutto showed great vision in this aspect, he even allowed A.Q Khan to run a parallel program.

Pakistan Zindabad.

Thanks a lot MZubair bhai.

If memory serves me right there was a sixth device tested on the 30th of may. Bringing the total number of devices tested to 6 from the Pakistan side.
