26 injured in Muharram clashes in Uttar Pradesh

Yo Amreekan Pakistani, this is a news about Indians in India which I as an Indian posted in Indian section for fellow Indians. You are positively asked to stay out and I am not responsible for your country men indulging in sectarian hatred here.

And it seems like tomorrow if some Shias are killed in Pakistan you would say KS' hand is behind that. I'm the foreign hand Rahman Malik refers to. facepalm.

Don't you know? The obvious reaction to anything bad in UP will be to abuse the Mohajirs in Pakistan. How cunning of you to incite the harmonious Pakistani members.

I agree with cb4 UP & Bihari muslims are generally a bit extremist and violent in nature much of anti muslim feeling present in india especially in mumbai is mainly due to them few gujarati and marathi muslims i know know also share the same view

Many Pakistanis fell for it

This is a Pakistani forum so we air our dirty laundry in public. If we go to an Indian/Arab/Iranian/Israeli/American or any other forum, people would bring up their internal issues, but they would behave better in a foreign forum.

The Pakistani posts highlight a problem that exists in all societies, but it usually reflects uneducated people. One would hope that educated Pakistanis would be more open-minded and accept the diversity within the country. Hasn't the continuing ethnic/religious violence taught people anything?

I find fault with the Pakistani media. In the old days, state-run PTV used to make an effort to showcase diversity and build a national character. To what extent they succeeded can be debated, but at least the national media did one of its important functions. But, after Musharraf, the private media is all about sensationalist morons (on all sides) blathering on political talk shows, foreign entertainment which does nothing to educate Pakistani youth about Pakistani diversity, and other waste of public airwaves.

Do you know the difference between elected govt and army?

What he said was true, we all heard stories of Hindus stopping trains that were going to Pakistan and raping Muslim women inside?

It was just other way sir. even there was one train with all dead bodies except driver and guard which came from pakistan to india and that seen enraged indians so much that they also stopped one out going train and started killing the passengers. but they were stopped immediately by the army. but many people were killed by then. even today we are receiving refugees from pakistan, tell me, if they are so well taken care of, why they are fleeing their mother land even today ? and can you tell me one case of any muslim family who migrated to pakistan after 1971 due to oppression ? it is you who have been fed with propaganda, not us because it is very easy to spread rumors by controlling media in countries controlled by dictators and religious fanatics than a democracy.

They are known as Refugees (pronounced as Rafoojis in punjabi lingo)... just that... We have a whole colony in my town of families that were uprooted from Pakistan and shifted to India in 47... But this was a term used back in 80s because some of them were on some kind of support and rehabilitation etc... When that generation gradually disappeared and the new emerged, I haven't seen the new generation even mentioning that fact. So, there is no difference anymore as all Indian citizens are equal as per our constitution.

At least in my state, I do not know of a single case where emigratees (from what now is Pakistan) who became Indian citizens are treated any different from ANY other Indian (except for those who have govt mandated reservation like SC/ST etc)

Actually they did get treated differently as my grandmother and parents tell me (they also migrated from Pakistan). They were given / alloted houses at subsidized rates and got a cr@p load of benefits to get them restarted since they left most of their wealth/belongings back in Pakistan

Thats what I said... They had govt support and rehabilitation. Some still get that and some have made big name for themselves... IK Gujral, Advani, Many big business families in Delhi an Mumbai etc etc and there are many such examples of people who came from the other side of the border and made it big in India, as they really never got any discrimination (though, I am sure like everything else in life, Generalizations are almost always wrong). An, their third generation anyways is as Indian as you and me and it does not matter to most of them, where their Grandparents came from....

And 'benefits' to 'get started all over again' is a misnomer my friend... No benefit can replace the eternal job that one gets in his own house and no benefit can assuage the pain that a heart feels when one gets uprooted... and the beauty of it is that you can apply it to either side equally...
