On 26/11 Mumbai attacks, the Pakistan based group LeT was accused of being responsible for those attacks. On 6/12 Kabul, the Taliban have denied responsibility for the attacks, & the Pakistan based group LeJ has accepted responsibility for the attacks. What we can sure about is that Pakistan will be put under pressure for today's events in Kabul, as the US media is doing right now.

The LeJ is a Punjab based Jihadi group that has been aiding AQ & TTP terrorists in the FATA, as well as aiding sectarian violence in parts of Balochistan, & else where in the country. The LeJ has its strongholds in Punjab, & plays second fiddle elsewhere in the country, working as an umbrella group for other militant groups. They have not had any presence in Afghanistan, & it is not clear how they could have been responsible for such coordinated attacks deep inside Afghan territory in Kabul & Mazar-e-Sharif (in Northern Afghanistan close to the Uzbek border). It is unrealistic that the LeJ, which has no presence in Afghanistan, could have be responsible for such coordinated attacks deep inside Afghan territory.

.
if LeJ has taken the responsibility then may be they are responsible for these attacks & as far as their presence in afg is concerned then may be they have worked on it to establish a base in afg with the help of talibans. otherwise why would they take the responsibility for attacks.

jepp lej had to go all the way to afghanistan to kill shia.... topi drama

Everyone is talking about how this (sectarian violence) was unprecedented in Afghan history, & trying to absolve the Taliban from the blame, the LeJ (the Punjab based Pakistani militant group) is being blamed for these attacks, even though they don't have a presence in Afghanistan, & plays second fiddle to other groups elsewhere in Pakistan. This incident will no doubt be used against Pakistan.

It's funny they didn't start off with the Pakistani Shias living in Pakistan before targeting the Shias deep inside Afghan territory in Kabul & Mazar-e-Sharif (which borders Uzbekistan, not Pakistan). Pakistan will need to respond to this incident, because this could be another 26/11 on Pakistan's hands if they don't.

Just relax. Are you scared of Afghanistan's military

Amreeka and NATO dont care because none of their soldiers got killed in this attack. We all know they dont give a damn about an Afghan life and just care about saving their own a$$.

It's not about a war, but about how this incident will be used to tarnish Pakistan diplomatically.

Mumbai 26/11 did not kill any soldiers either, but just the LeT being responsible put Pakistan (& the ISI) in a bad spot. The LeJ being responsible for today will again put Pakistan (& the ISI) in a bad spot.

It is unrealistic that the LeJ, which has no presence in Afghanistan, could have be responsible for such coordinated attacks deep inside Afghan territory.

And how are you enlightened of their operational capabilities????

Because they do not have permission to kill pakistani shias (for the time being) from the isi, while isi will be more than happy to co-ordinate attacks in afganistan.(they think this will get them strategic depth).

If they don't have permission, then why have they been killing Pakistani Shias over the years, & why has there been clamping down on them & their activities from the LEAs?

Not just from Pakistan, but from Punjab Pakistan (bordering India) to Northern Afghanistan (bordering Uzbekistan) in Mazar-e-Sharif. They remained undetected all the way from Eastern Pakistan to Northern Afghanistan, & no one knew how the LeJ operatives got inside Afghanistan, or when they got into Afghanistan. Very believable.

While the usual terrorism apologists are out in force claiming LEJ has nothing to do with Afghanistan, Pakistan's then interior minister had clearly admitted that LEJ was active in Afghanistan.

On their alleged links with al-Qaida, he said, ''They have been sleeping together, eating together, receiving training together and fighting against the Northern Alliance together in Afghanistan.''

According to SATP LeJ has/had some presence in Afghanistan.

Muhammad Ajmal alias Akram Lahori is reportedly the present Saalar-i-Aala (‘Commander-in-Chief’) of the LeJ. Lahori was originally with the Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP), which he had joined in 1990. Subsequently, in 1996, he along with Malik Ishaque and Riaz Basra founded the LeJ and launched terrorist activities in Punjab. He has also reportedly established a training camp in Sarobi, Afghanistan after securing support from the erstwhile Taliban regime there.

Lahori’s predecessor was Basra. He was involved in more than 300 terrorist incidents, including attacking Iranian missions, killing an Iranian diplomat Sadiq Ganji in December 1990 and targeting government officials. He was arrested and tried by a special court for Ganji's killing, but escaped during trial in 1994 from police custody while being produced in court. He was Chief of the Khalid bin Walid unit of the Afghan Mujahideen in Afghanistan.

The entire leadership of the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi consists of Jehadis who fought against Soviet forces in Afghanistan.

Pakistani reports indicate that the active cadre strength of the LeJ is approximately 300. Most of these cadres are either under arrest in Pakistan or were based in the various training camps in Afghanistan, from where they regularly came to Pakistan to carry out terrorist activities.

The SSP and LeJ have very close links with the Taliban militia. They assisted the Taliban in every way they can both in Afghanistan and within Pakistan. They have fought alongside the Taliban militia in Afghanistan against the Northern Alliance. Besides, all three groups are closely linked in their fight against the Shias, be it in Afghanistan or in Pakistan. LeJ and SSP cadres reportedly played an active part in the massacres of Shias by the erstwhile Taliban regime in Afghanistan.

The LeJ is also reported to have links with the Harkat-ul-Mujahideen (HuM), Pakistan-based terrorist outfit active in India’s Jammu and Kashmir. Many front ranking LeJ terrorists are have reportedly received training at HuM camps in Afghanistan.
