24 NEWS licence revoked by PEMRA

Yesterday, PEMRA cancelled the licence of 24 News, Pakistan.

24 News broadcasting from Lahore, is one of the Pakistanis channel, which quite regularly broadcast fake news and targets PTI government excessively.

After cancellation of their Licence by PEMRA, Pakistani journalist organisations were condemning PTI government , terming it as unfair and constituting the step against the independence of the journalism.

This is once again cunning trick by Pakistani media. Pakistani media is out of order.
PEMRA took way to long to terminate the licence of this channel. They should have been taken it off the air years ago. They were operating against the Law and were in breach of the Licence awarded to them. Here is why.

The questions are,
1- How these criminals started a news channel illegally without having a Licence!!

2- Why PEMRA has kept quiet for years, why it didn't cancel their licence immediately, within weeks of the start of the transmissions!

3- Are Pakistani journalists organisations blind!! They have no respect and regard to the Law!! How can they term actions against an illegally operating channel as steps against independence of journalism!!

Pakistanis should consider all the above questions and understand what games are played.
The Channel continues to broadcast despite the termination of the Company's licence, the 24 News Channel never had a licence to broadcast news.

I predict, 24 News going to the Lohar High Court against PEMRA.

Lohar High Court would give stay against the order of PEMRA and allow 24 News to continue broadcasting illegally without having appropriate licence to operate as NEWS Channel.

It is a simple matter of non compliance of a license matter. Najam Sethi can move to any other channel in less than a day. Even a stupid can get that closing a complete channel will not effect an anchor as old as najam sethi.

By the way name me one anchor who is currently not talking against PTI?

If Geo news is open whose channel whole agenda is to demean PTI and Imran Khan and military than what good it will be to close 24 news?

The license was for entertainment programs only. If they wanted to air political talk shows, get a proper license. PEMRA even told them to do that, but they ignored it. PEMRA even gave them ample time to fix this issue, still they ignored it. 3 months, and nobody at 24 News thoughts, oh lets get the correct license. Now that action is taken, people are saying it was politically motivated. One hand, people want law to be implemented. On the other hand, when its implemented they start crying.

The questions are,

You are right. The owner, who also appears as a commentator on one of the talk show airs on Din News, is one of the most obnoxious man I have seen in my life.

Sad thing is, in Pakistan, people are allowed to speak non-sense,present libellous, scandalous and fake material regularly without any consequences. This man is one of such man, and this channel wouldn't have lasted in the west for few weeks before shutdown on libellous contents and the owner paying back huge amounts in damages.

Amazed to see behavior of PTI followers. Anyone who criticise them they blame them as noora supporters, something noora suppprters used to do. Ive come to the conclusion PTI is no different than pmln or ppp and even their supporters have morphed into the same mental league. What a pity.

I can assure you, I am not a PTI supporter. I am not supporter of any Pakistani political party. I am completely independent person, who tries to speak the truth all the time. I have dignity and self-respect. I am someone who can criticise his own brother, if I see him doing something wrong.

Sometimes posting contents doesn't mean that you are supporting a particular party or country etc.
I post Indian media's contents all the time, despite being against Indian's narratives vehemently. The purpose is to expose and invite comments and discussions.
