I know that india is one of the highest ranking countries in the world for the number of ppl suffering from malnourishment. I'm assuming we are talking about under-nutrition which I correlate with poverty and illiteracy, all these factors go hand in hand in my opinion. We are a nation of poor because our farmers 're poor, almost 54% of Indian population depends on agriculture. The high and persistent incidence of malnutrition surprises many as India seems to be doing remarkably well remarkably well in economic terms.
Illiteracy, especially female illiteracy, exacerbates the situation. Its a fact that uneducated women are likely to be less able to care well for themselves in terms of nutrition and health and therefore less apt to care for their own children.
The only way forward is to tackle these issues, but once again corruption water down every effort by our governments to raise ppl above poverty line and to educate 'em.
So till we find an effective way to ward off corruption, reduce poverty and make education accessible to every citizen in the country, till then India will remain malnourished. Quick fixes are not long term solutions.

Your GDP is yet to pass $2 trillion, forget about $2.3t. And these are just made up numbers with hindu math, actual food production will not increase in real world.

Unfortunatly for hindus, poverty is not state of mind hindu word is anynomys with bhuka nanga, and difference between per capita food production of both countries prove my point.

this is a sobering thread for me whenever I see stats and pictures of the people of my subcontinent although sometimes these pictures and articles are posting with a non-serious intent but they really are a sobering thought no matter if they are of Indians or Pakistanis scavenging for food and other things in dump sites
looking at such sobering pictures and article and then pictures of say JF-17, F-16, SU30 MKI, Brahmos etc together with Macho rhetoric by ministers seem really hollow .
what a disconnect. I closed the thread because it has become like any other thread after 4 or 5 pages
