LCBs are mainly deployed in FATA. They were formed as a result of war in FATA relieving SSG of going after every tom dick n harry. They've filled the gaps between regular infantry and Special Forces (SSG) and have been the working horse of Op Zarb-Azb.

Every Corp has one lcb in its aor so 9-10 lcb

US equivalent would be Army Rangers instead or for UK - Para Regiment - UKSF Support Group .........75th Rangers is a Special Ops Unit

Just because they use the word "Commando" in their name & are "Airborne" doesn't constitute it to be a Special Ops, they can be categorized in Special Forces Support Group .....
Special Ops are trained for conventional & unconventional warfare, important element is of SERE that LCB is not trained on (atleast last i checked on), direct action, Overt & cover ops, Recon, going behind enemy lines.....
although LCB does few of the jobs but then few of the tasks are missing too......
