Hyderabad, April 7:
The Telangana Government has increased compensation for the families of police personnel killed in terrorist violence to Rs. 40 lakhs from Rs. 25 lakhs.
The State Cabinet, which met here on Tuesday, has appointed a sub-committee under Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy to fix compensation for the injured and those whose properties are damaged in such violent incidents.
The Cabinet decision came in the wake of killing of four policemen in a shootout with alleged activists of SIMI (Students Islamic Movement of India) in Nalgonda recently.
The Cabinet also sanctioned Rs. 7.19 crore for the weavers in Sircilla.
Meanwhile, the Government has decided to celebrate the State formation day (June 2) in a big way. The Cabinet allotted Rs. 20 crore for celebrations.
