2 small dams approved for Rawalpindi division

RAWALPIND : Planning and Development government of Punjab has accorded approval for construction of 2 small dams Mohota and Qibla Bandi to meet the needs of water supply to Rawalpindi division. The tenders of these two dams are being issued. About 16 billion rupees will be spent on construction of dams and 26 water supply schemes for Rawalpindi division during the yea 2014-15. The cost of construction of Mohata dam has been estimated at Rs 1884.991 million and Rs 362.703 million of Qibla Bandi dam.

One thing you forgot to mention that PML n has ruled ruling in Punjab for more than 30 years.

Patwaries don't recognize previous terms of PMLN because as per them N-League wasn't allowed to complete the terms. But this time around, Showbaz is ruling punjab for past 8 consecutive years.

That's from May, 2014. I believe, sadly, that there is less intent to build Kalabagh dam from all stack holders lately.

Units? Weren't we talking about DAMS?
Anyways, where is status mentioned in the link you gave? Which are under construction and completed? Are they even exist on ground or they're just on Punjab Govt's site? When were they started, who knows?

For your information, if Khan or any other province doesn't approve Kalabagh Dam why don't your leaders focus on Bunji Hydropower proejct which is of 7100 MW and cost will be less than Kalabagh dam

@Jazzbot You don't need to fight with patwaris because they don't know that in 8 consecutive years ruling PML N has just indentified sites

The only issue KPK has with Kalabagh dam is that they want Mianwali to become a part of KPK first so that they can get royalties from it, despite the fact that Kalabagh is ethnically Punjabi majority.

KPK politicians also have a long standing feud with the nawabs of Kalabagh.

qibla bandi dam was build 5 years back? i think they mean to steal water from the dam to rawalpindi..its about 30kms from rawalpindi
unless its another one with same name

You do know that link was last updated on 2012? So that means after 2.5 years they still haven't made most of them or proposed more

Yaar koi issue ko forward le kar jaega toh he kuch houga nah btw Kalabagh incentive should be taken by Punjab government
