What's new

2*MIG 35 >> RAFALE/EFT

Then cant india get that tech for amca?
What do you think, we have the capability to design a 5th gen fighter??/ Our scientist is so optimistic because they believe FGFA will give them sufficient know-how to develop an indigenous 5th gen fighter. AMCA will be mostly FGFA's smaller version with couple of changes.

Mig-35 has lots of positives with them , like ,lowest cost , they can offer the maximum TOT , maximum offset ,if it's fills the IAF requirements , which i think it would.............

Man, you really should check the interviews the Air Chief gave and you would understand that the Mig is not what IAF wants. He stated officially that IAF will prefer low life cycle costs over low unit cost, and moreover he directly said, that putting all eggs in one basket is not a good idea (his words)! Two major arguments from the highest IAF officer, that rules out the Mig for sure and I think the not participation at Aero India this year has a reason.
The Mig can't offer us useful ToT, because we obviously don't want Russian engine techs and wouldn't upgrade all Russian fighters with as much western avionics as possible, if they offer anything interesting in that regard.
So when low unit costs, ToT, political advantages, not to mention the capabilities of the fighter itself are ruled out, what is left to make it preferable?

can any one explain , why we are assuming that Mig 35 to inferior to Rafale or Typhoon ????????

specs by specs MIg 35 is among the best

you are correct , specs by specs MIg 35 is among the best...

AESA Radar : 200km range , better then all others..

T/W : more then 1

weaponery : best in it's class

Stealth tech :with the stealth tech they are offering , RCS would be very low..

MIG-35 is more capable then any other contender in MMRCA.....
i hope you should back your posts by proper argument rather flat comments..

Then how the movie would be when rafale/eft:hitwall: faces 2 mig 35's:cheers:

If we think there's delay of mig35's then buy 40 rafales . Later after we get mig35's ,upgrade rafales with aesa and other stuff then induct them in Strategic forces command which fulfills SFC's requirement.

No need to correct all the wrong points, but just to give you a hint , all they did was replacing some materials with composites and adding RAM. The two big engine intakes which gives quiet a good view to the engine compressors will reflect radar waves easily are still the same, no ducts or radar blockers. The two vertical tail fins will obviously increase the RCS compared to the other contenders as well. The estimations based on Migs statement, that the RCS was reduced about 4 times compared to older Mig 29s hints on a RCS comparable to F16 B52, which is expected around 1.2m2 and that is at least twice the RCS expected for the Eurocanards. We can assume that the F16IN will have some improvements as well, which leaves the Mig and the F18SH with the highest RCS in the competition.
So it hardly has the RCS of a 4. gen fighter and should remain in service for up to 40 years? :disagree:

Dassault Rafale - RCS to about 0.75 m2
Eurofighter Typhoon - RCS to about 0.25-0.75 m2
F-16 Fighting Falcon C/D and E/F - from Block 30 has got reduced RCS to about 1.2m2
F/A-18E/F Super Hornet - The F/A-18E/F's radar cross section was reduced greatly from some aspects, mainly the front and rear. RCS to about 0.75 m2
Mikoyan MiG-29K - Due to special coatings Mig-29K radar reflecting surface is 4-5 times smaller than of basic MiG-29. RCS to about 0.60-0.75 m2

I dont think mig35(nothing but mig29kub) will have rcs more than that of mig29k as mig35 is prepared intentionally to reduce rcs.

mig-35 has a AESA radar and su-30mki has a PESA radar...IAF planing to put the mig-35 radar on su-30mki upgrade.....

other then range and payload , mig-35 is far superior to su-30mki..

We can get 2 mig35's + 1 mig 21 for 1 su30mki whose price is now increasing exponentially. Now its around 105 million dollars.

The above combination can carry much payload and go for more range than su30mki with more internal fuel. This could be a deadly combination and mig21 can act like gunman for mig35's.

mig-35 also coming with optronics OLS-UEhM radar , ...
these optical radar has significant roll in targeting the non-matalic grond targets with precision , .....

mig-35 is a very potent fighter in A2A as well as A2G mode...

also india-russia has resently entered a gloness signal shareing agreement , means MIG-35 will get benifit of GPS satalite too...

The basic Mig 29, like IAF versions for example is often expected with a RCS of 5m2, or higher, Mig 29K and Mig 35 has the same base so the same RCS reductions and if it was reduced by 4 times it's 1.25m2. There is no chance to reduce the RCS of such a "big" fighter below 1 without using a huge ammounts of composites, ducted intakes, or other reduction features and re-designs like the SH, or this Mig versions just made some reductions compared basically to the older versions.
Btw, PAFs new F16 B52s are expected at 1.2m2, the older B30s not.

thats good .
Means india and russia are going to partner of 6gfa.

when IRST radar associated with a IR-missile , it won't trigger the radar warning of the enemy aircraft ........means , bang without warning

Eurofighter has it since 2007 , boeing just last year planing to put IRST on their f-18 and f-16 also using it since a year.....i think rafale going to have it in 2012....Gripen too selected SELEX Galileo IRST
system SKYWARD-G ...
but range is the key here , at low range it is good for A2G attack , for A2A range need to improve........

also the point here will be level of TOT ...
