. . .
India deserves final from here perhaps the trophy... Only India can win from 92 for 6.
Australia can deliver.

AUS vs. WZ = 79 - 5
AUS vs. NZ = 92 - 5

AUS bounced back from both situations.

No. Had it not rained during Pakistan vs Srilanka match and had it rained during Pakistan vs India match then, given the history, Pakistan would be in the semi-finals!! The loss to West Indies was shameful for Pakistan but Pakistan had fared even worse in the 1992 World Cup and this time again Pakistan was bouncing back!!

Well then let’s call it even.
In 92 rain helped you get into the Knockout rounds, this time it hurt you.

Karma works both ways.

You can try to white-wash all you try but in the annals of Cricket World Cup history, India's losing to England will always come up under scrutiny...your own senior cricketers and segments of your media attest to that.

That would matter only if India won the cup. It’s a moot point now no?

England getting into the semis had nothing to do with you. They scored the runs and made us chase.
What did **** over Pak was your NRR compared to NZ.
Your loss is your own doing. No one else’s.

And not for the first time Indians have played negative cricket: Who is here old enough to remember the so-called Indian great Gavasker scoring 36 runs off 60 overs in the World Cup 1975 match against England? Reasons may be different but facts are facts:
India vs England World Cup 1975: Sunil Gavaskar
India vs England World Cup 2019: M. S. Dhoni

I haven’t played cricket at the World Cup stage, nor have you.
So we can’t speak of the pressure and mindset of those players in those moments.
We can sit here and run all the conspiracy theories, but until you’ve played in those conditions and felt the pressure, we can’t go too far in our criticism. Selection, perhaps can be because those are decisions made in a strategic format. In game moments and play is not in anyone’s control.

I would say the same about the Pakistani team.

That’s just my view. You can differ in that.

In any case, I have heard, that this Cup, while celebrating, is filled with champagne, and not tea.

I hardly know anything about cricket; but I think that today's pitch was difficult to play. It also somewhat reminded me the final of 2017 Champion's Trophy between India and Pakistan, where top order of India collapsed; though in that case target score was quite high. Ultimately, it was 50/50 match, quite to the end and India's middle order brought it back to the game, from the initial shock.

In hindsight, a few more runs from each player up top and middle would have got us the game...

Par..ab pachtaye kya Kare Jab chidiya chug gayi khet!

Cest la vie!
On to the next.

hmm...he is extremely unhappy with dhoni...he feels he should have batted at 5.

I semi agree.
Pant should not have gone up that high.

Pakistan is brought into the mix because of the level of celebration here.
Are you seriously telling me Pakistanis aren’t celebrating here?
Like I pointed out, everything from Karma being the reason for the loss because India kept Pakistan out of the semis is being floated here..

Please follow the context.
Personally, I was one of the few to criticize Indian performance against England.
But that is not why we lost today, we lost because we played shit in the first 40 mins.
Even Karma takes a backseat if you take control of your destiny.
Besides, if we had gone to the finals and lost there, would Pakistanis have said anything different?

The Celebration is because of the feeling that India deliberately lost to England AND India loosing to a team that was considered a walk over - specially the Indians. And yes you are right that the celebration if India lost in the final wouldn´t have been there... So NO i never said that Pakistanis did not celebrate Indias defeat.

I'm glad that you accept that India´s team did a bad performance today. And yes you are right in pointing out that Pakistans performance was even worse. And that is exactly my point. WHY bring in Pakistans performance in when there is a celebration of Indias defeat? Pakistans and India´s performance are NOT interconnected.

India losing today has nothing to do with Pakistan cricket teams performance...

AND just one last point: No one remembers who came in second or lower - only the winners are remembered. So argument like: "Yeah we (India) didn´t win the world cup, but our performance was better than Pakistan" is a hollow argument... Can only be used for a stupid, hollow and poor chest-thumping

Sorry but the only ones linking India’s performance today to Pakistan are the Pakistanis.
If there is no karma and “lost on purpose angle”, Pakistan’s performance would not be a point of discussion.

And that’s what I’m telling you is that India’s loss and the karmic angle of Pak not getting into the semis because of “deliberate loss” is a feel good for Pakistanis. But outside of that, reality of Pak not going to the semis is Paks doing.
That’s the only point I want to make through the comparison in the performance.
Hope you see the spirit I’m coming from.

Remarkable turn of events. Yesterday India was firmly the favorite for final. Today after 45 minutes NZ changed the complexion of the game. This is cricket.

The Indians are pulling hair out of their heads and rightfully so. This is a bad loss.
