In case of a war, intelligence is as important as infantry for an army. History is full of evidences of how a small a piece of intelligence has changed the course of war.

Capt. Saurabh Kalia was the first Indian officer who gave the intelligence about the presence of intruders on the heights of Kargil. His intelligence proved its worthiness as after a few reconnaissances a blur picture of the Pakistani intrusion plan was figured out. In few weeks it was completely clear that our neighbor has betrayed our trust again and captured Indian position in the Kargil valley.

On 15 May 1999, Lt Saurabh Kalia and other soldiers – Sepoy Arjun Ram, Bhanwar Lal Bagaria, Bhika Ram, Moola Ram and Naresh Singh of the 4 JAT regiment had gone for a routine patrol of the Bajrang post in the Kaksar sector in the treeless mountains of Ladakh. They were attacked by the Pakistani armed forces from across the LOC. Being a brave army officer he with his team retaliated ferociously and also passed the intelligence about the intrusion at the same time. As he was on a patrol, he didn’t have ample amount of ammunition to fight and he and his troops ran out of ammunition. He was encircled by a platoon of Pakistani rangers and captured alive before Indian reinforcement could reach them.

The Pakistani‘s left no trace of patrol. Skardu radio of Pakistan announced that Captain Saurabh Kalia had been captured by Pakistani troops.

Captain Saurabh Kalia and his men remained in Pakistani captivity for 22 days. Breaching the Geneva Convention during these 22 days they had been subjected to the most brutal and sadistic ways of tortures possible.

The Pakistanis had tortured them by: burning their bodies with cigarettes, piercing their ear drums with hot rod, puncturing their eyes before removing them, breaking most of their teeth and bones, fracturing their skulls, cutting their lips, chipping of nose, chopping of limbs and private organs and finally shooting them dead. The post mortem report confirmed that these injuries happened ante-mortem (before death).

On 9th June 1999 the mutilated body was handed over to Dr. N K Kalia father of the Capt Saurabh Kalia.

From the year of the Kargil War till today Captain Kalia’s family is trying to get justice from the government and to highlight war crimes that were committed against their son and other Indian soldiers but still there is no substantial progress in the case.

On 14th December 2012 Pakistan’s interior minister Rehman Malik issued the statement that Capt. Kalia would have died because of bad weather conditions.

Now the question is “Does our soldiers deserve a complete justice or these types of nonsense comments”.

I.A prove many times liar specially On Kashmir encounters even current and previous Indian army chief both accused of being cooking up fake stories for promotions. Parents should be told real events and may they go to court for judicial inquiry to end their dilemma.

If they were in possession of these dead bodies how did they become mutilated. Also these men occupied the heights that Indian soldiers vacated during winter. So obviously your soldiers are lying about being inside LOC. We all know the story that unfolded there after.

Then why Indian Govt not going international Court of Justice if they have proofs did you see the bodies any pictures. Only media fed with cooked up stories and key board warriors like you wage war against Pakistan. Correct your facts or bring any proof of your claims.

No justice is possible but retribution was extracted.That can unfortunately be the only saving grace in matters like this.

Becaue the ICJ only adjudicates cases that are mutually submitted by two parties who both consent to have the case judged by them.

In simpler terms - only if both India and Pakistan jointly submit a case to the ICJ to judge. The ICJ is set up to settle legal disputes between two states.

The parents of Kalia and other soldiers have seen the bodies- they are the better judge. Even Rehman Mallik wanted to talk to Kalia's father to verify the facts and bring closure to the grieving father but as was expected he later back tracked his words. We all know who calls the shots in Pakistan.

If govt. did not file a case in international court of Justice against P.A. does not mean it did not happen.

A grieving father would not have fought for 16 years for something that did not happen. He went all the way to supreme court which directed the Indian govt. to bring justice and closure. But our previous UPA govt. decided not to pursue the case because both India and Pakistan are both commonwealth countries and have a agreement not to invoke compulsory jurisdiction at ICJ pertaining to armed conflict. That was the take of the previous congress government. But our present govt. has decided to invoke a provision in that agreement concerning special circumstance. Our govt. take is that what happened to Captn. Kalia was during peace time and they want to invoke the jurisdiction of the ICJ as this is a special circumstance.

I agree that these guys have to be human animals to mutilate a body like that.

My understanding is that the post mortem report clearly states that the body was mutilated and had burn marks with cigarette. Now no animal I know off which smokes cigarettes and take sadistic pleasure of burning another.

Then don't send u r burgers at the border or stop crying. Don’t quote me further end of it i can't go with a clue less guy since u r a fairy tale guy believing in stories. Why the hell they return bodies if they do so r they mad they hand over the bodies to Red Cross. Come on u r not that fool. Be a man and accept the lies.
