What's new

15 unconventional desi dishes you should definitely have at your wedding..

Not protecting pointing out....

However there are few who understand the really meaning....and they do practice no lavish weddings......Sadly very few...

Unfortunately, women esp girls do have a dream wedding in mind and it doesnt involve feeding the hungry :(
Rightly said!!!

When you are on the brides side, this bloody society doesn't give you a lot of room to maneuver!!

In my wedding I made sure there was no wastage. It was very simple Salad, Biryani, Quorma (with nan and taftan), and kheer. Thats it. For Valima it was a different story, it was slightly lavish, but not extravagant.

my two brothers have their wedding very simply ... not much halaaa gulla and etc ...
we are not aliens , we are part of society , so we can do it , others can too
IF you don't invite me for your wedding, I will personally hunt you down :-):sniper:

.
i am not against Halla gulla , but wastage of money , i believe that if we utilize the money to feed a poor hungry person its far more better than wasting food ...
and they way people waste the food in marriages , its not hidden from you and me ...

This is why I prefer the event to be in the afternoon, instead of the evening. What ever food is left, can be given to the needy.

You should also try buffalo wings.
But buffalo's don't have wings!!

Well, it is mentioned that you are Lt.Colonel, so I guess that only an army officer can be Lt.Colonel. By the way you are very lucky that you served Pak army.
Oh ho! Don't go by the number of msgs on the forum. The higher the number of msgs, the higher the rank. When I reach 4000msgs it'll become colonel, so on and so forth.

Oh Bhai Reham Karo! These pictures just too much to swallow--pun intended!

Some of us overseas Desis--especially like me married to a Gori and living in a small town--the best we can come up are some Shan Spices mixed with chicken and that too OCCASIONALLY!

PS. Pakistani food is, with no bias on my behalf, the best in the world: It gets the spice-richness from India while the meat-dishes come from the Central Asia and the Middle East.

I just had Saag with Makhan(Butter) Today, Nothing can beat a Good cooked Saag with Makkhan. :D

This is Pakistan. You must obviously serve a rice dish, but how do you serve a rice dish without making it a boring pulao or the conventional biryani? You surprise your guests – you give them the best of both worlds, and this Afghani pulao does exactly that. Here is how you do it!

Who doesn’t love Punjabi food? Sarson da saag, makai di Roti – wah wah! One bite and you experience the lush greenery of Punjab in your mouth. Try it out from here.

Surprised? Don’t be! Like we said earlier, seafood is a guaranteed winner and when people can have beef katakat and chicken katakat, you can take it a step further and serve them a fish katakat. This recipe is bound to impress!
