MIRANSHAH: A blast caused by a remote-controlled device struck an army vehicle, killing at least 14 security personnel and injuring 22 others in North Waziristan tribal region, which borders war-torn Afghanistan, Geo News reported Sunday.

Correspondent says the blast took place on Razmak Road in North Waziristan. He says a curfew was clamped for an indefinite period since 6:AM in the morning and the attack took place during the movement of security men.

He said that the dead and injured had been taken to Bannu and other areas through helicopters.

Pakistan's security forces have been battling a TTP led insurgency in country's tribal region near Afghan border. The nation lost over 35000 lives in nearly a decade long war.

Henous Act by Sums..Condolences to the family of deceased and May There Soul Rest In Peace....

R-I-P

We can only hope and wait until Lord Sauron Zardari goes and solid steps are taken to arm the military for avoiding such situations..
Obviously military routes are being watched, and the observers cant be too far from thr explosives...
A small drone or helium baloon with camera tied to a mountain top can be a credible 24/7 survailance..
Plus jamming devices fitted to every military vehicle passing through high risk areas can save the soldiers..

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan — Intelligence officials say the number of Pakistani soldiers killed in a roadside bombing of an army convoy in the northwest has risen to 14.

The officials say another 20 troops were wounded in the attack Sunday near Dosalli village in the North Waziristan tribal area. One vehicle was completely destroyed.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.

Pakistani military officials confirmed the bombing but said four soldiers were killed and 11 others wounded.

North Waziristan is the main sanctuary for al-Qaida and Taliban militants in Pakistan.

But why the Pakistani Taliban said they will cease attacks on the Pakistani military and now this? were they just game playing?

Unfortunately the report SEEMS cover up by ISPR of a "mistaken identity" drone strike by US. Only God knows the facts.

Once again goes to show that enemy within is a greater threat to Pak's security than any external... RIP to the dead souls!

The killing was by an IED or mine I guess..they might have laid it before the offer..
