LAHORE: High Education Department and Lampro Mellon Limited Pakistan have singed a MoU for certification courses for engineers of educational institutions and universities.

The duration of the MoU is for 10 years and the best job opportunities would be available to engineers going through this certification.

According to the agreement, certification course would be held every year for 5,000 engineers of educational institutions and universities of the higher education department.

Punjab Minister for Higher Education has said the Punjab government has made arrangements to provide job opportunities to 100,000 engineers at the international job market.

He said “Our engineers can earn 4,000 to 5,000 dollars which will increase the size of national economy by $2 billion.”

The minister said there was an opportunity to move our country forward in Chip Technology. Within next few years Pakistan will become the hub of Micro-Chip Manufacturing Technology, he added.

He said China had announced manufacturing the microchip and 500,000 job opportunities were expected only in China in this regard.

I hope this certification is not a money making scheme!

Oh Damnnnnnn SoC design is one of the highest paying segments in Canada as well. Having 100,000 engineers trained in it would be a massive critical mass of engineering talent.

I bet companies like Intel and Xilinx will come knocking if this program is successful.

. . . . .
Because india started this kind of programs way earlier! We are late in the field due to govt, and education mafia!
Or may i say we are late because we were hit by (fake) democracy!
Thanks to ''go Musharraf go''

Mean while in Germany, Indian labor is getting jobs.

@Simurgh @Retired Troll
Leute.... was ist passiert?

German government was in advanced stages of negotiations with its Pakistani counterpart in starting a program for skilled labor training in health sciences and economics sector till early this year.

No idea where it got stalled but there is historical connection between the two countries.

On topic:

Very little details on MoU. Education however is always a good investment for anyone and everyone. The claim of 100000 jobs however cannot be taken seriously with the evidence provided in the article.

100'000 jobs of $5000 each, is unbelievable number, but good luck with it.
Don't forget to come back and report, once it's executed.

.
Excellent news if true.

You know normally I take a chill pill on weekends and try and spend quality time with family, these days its excellent time to go out for fishing, just returned and found @Dubious back with another positive news.

Somehow or the other we prefer to hear only negative things about Pakistan one of the reasons my list of ignored people keeps growing, like Fuzla march and how it would topple the Govt, there are some serious positive things happening for Pakistan this is one of them. Nothing happens overnight it always takes time to develop this kind of initiative, what I remember GoP started a public initiative on A.I training this year, a business executive from Karachi was telling me the other day two of their employees are getting benefit from the institution and the instructors there are some of the best. Both of them are working on developing an algorithm which has the potential to increase the top line of the organization by 20% (all export business).

This week I met few diplomats from the Japanese embassy and they informed that they have offered GoP to send 360,000 pakistanis technicians who meet certain criteria and are conversant with Japanese, they will be offered full family visa along renewal after 5 years. GoP will be setting up institutions where in addition to certifying these technicians they will also be taught Japanese language. There is already a vibrant and strong Pakistani Community in Japan.

@Syed1. Only people from our kind of understanding know what we are talking about when we mention SoC and the deep Pakistani state's ambition to start manufacturing/exporting RISC-V based logic in Pakistan.

These are all lies, there is no such thing as providing jobs for engineers at the "international job market", a government should only work to provide jobs to its citizens within the country particularly the one like Pakistan which needs to be developed and requires industrialization for that purpose. But the mentality in the government is to prepare "slaves" to be traded to other countries in the name of jobs and other such BS.

100'000 jobs of $5000 each, is unbelievable number, but good luck with it.
Don't forget to come back and report, once it's executed.

These are all lies, every sh1tty government sells this kind of BS claims just to fool Pakistani people.

me too
btw shouldn't engineer of these fields already have the requisite expertise that's what there degree is for isn't it ???

gov should make sure that these universities have adequate facilities to train the students to handle the challenges of there fields and not just hand em pieces of papers with little or no skill to back em up :(

the problem is that these trained engineers will not come back to Pakistan once got job in foreign countries, already we have such engineers in u.s and other developed countries who have knowledge of advanced skills but they never returned after getting knowledge and training as u.s payscale and living condition is much attractive for them
