That is not proof of non westoxification. That is merely Turkishness just like French, Germans, British retain unique aspects despite being "Western". Being "Western" does not imply you are exactly the same. To make a sporting analogy footbal supporters all share love of the game but express in form of so many clubs like Manchester United or Galalatay Istanbul. They all have their own chants, followers, traditions, rivalries but they all share broad contours in loving the game. They all tango to the same beat. Going back to specifics. Spanish have their own unique cuisine, language, art, music etc etc but we know that it is strand of wider canvas called the West. Same can be said of Swedes who have their own unique culture etc. The point being is they are all sub-sets of the West. Even the Germans in WW2 when they were fighting the Allies remained a Western nation.
Exactly. The term "Western" is a very broad term which includes many differing civilizations and cultures. Sometimes even people from Western countries get confused about the boundaries of "Western ideas" which are the engin of cultural Westernization.
For instance, many Westerners today would claim that Socialism/Communism isn't Western in the first place but this is a false assumption to my mind. It is caused by the fact that Europeans/Americans don't look from the outside at their area of culture. They don't know the real limits of Western ideas because today they are part of a specific faction with a hegemonic position within the Western world (=Capitalism/Democracy; EU&USA).
This is the reason why Communist states like North Korea and China are trying to replace ideologies that are perceived "White" as Marxism/Stalinism with something indigenous (even if it does not make sense at all):

From this perspective, I would even include North Korea to your list of Westernized countries.
A Spanish, a German or a Greek are differant but all stand on the same platform - West.
You're right but you've chosen the only member state of the inner circle of the Western world to underline your arguments whose position among this group has always raised debates : Greece.

To this day, a significant portion of the Greek people don't accept themselves to be European. If they go to Western Europe for studying/living/working, they usually refer to this region as "Evrópi" (linguistically excluding Greece from [West] Europe).

Turkey is rather unique in this by being Muslim therefore is not part of the inner circle but still is on the outer orbit of the West. Japanese/South Korea and Singapore are more Western then Turkey because there is nothing at all separating them from the West. However their distance and racial divergency also prevents them being part of the inner circleand are relegated to where Turkey is - on the orbit of the West.
Turkey by now would have been accepted in the inner circle even being Muslim. The problem has been the term "Muslim" is now seen as dirty in the West primarily because they associate that term with Third World. If Turkey was exposition of only Muslim country [along with Kosova/Bosnia] by now Turkey would in the inner circle. However Muslim is defined by the majority who live in Asia and Africa. Therefore "Muslim" hangs like a weight around Turkish necks that forces them to stand outside the fence despite the Greeks or Cypriots being in.
My personal observation is that Western Europeans who have been in Japan and Turkey tend to see Turkey as more "Western" than Japan even though they recognize the major cultural differences between themselves and Turks. But this is just my feeling. I could be wrong. However, you're right. I also do believe that Turkey is the only Muslim nation that the Western world is ready to consider as equal if we accept the rules, values and social guidelines of what is considered as "European" by Western Europeans. Personally, I never will see myself as European or Middle Eastern.
I know this because Turkish Islam does nor even remotely look like Pakistani Islam let alone Saudi Islam. Turkish Islam is more self confident and stands equal to Cathlicsism in Europe and evinces Ottoman might whereas Saudi or Pak Islam carries the seeds of defeat. It is ridden with inferiority complex and not able to handle the modern world.
Historically, the Turkish Islam (Sunni) was closer to Protestantism; Shias were closer to Catholicism.

This is why some Western scientists described the ideology and work ethic of AKP as "Calvinistic".

Now you understand why political conflicts between German and the Dutch people on the one hand and us Turks on the other hand are so fundamental for many in Ankara and Berlin/Den Haag. Protestants were always our closest European allies and this has just changed.
Liever Turks dan Paaps ("Rather Turkish than Papist"), also Liever Turksch dan Paus ("Rather Turkish than Pope"), was a Dutch slogan during the Dutch Revolt of the end of the 16th century. The slogan was used by the Dutch mercenary naval forces (the "Sea Beggars") in their fight against Catholic Spain.

Again, sorry for my English.
