10 Incredible Facts About India’s Mars Mission That Will Make You Super Proud

1. India is the first country in the world to have succeeded in putting a probe into Mars’s orbit in the very first attempt.

Well to be fair it was 50 years ago that NASA started sending Mariner stuff to Mars. There's been lots of tech advances in those years

It's just the excitement of some thats showing up. Truth being told - Nobody can match what NASA has achieved in space exploration!!

And on a Pakistani highway...there goes a truck with something like this writtne on its back_ "Sad naa...Rees kar". meaning-stop being jeleous...try and compete or even better it.

I wouldn't want Pakistan to send any moon or mars mission unless the GDP per capita is at least $10,000 and people are not suffering abject poverty. Basic human rights should come first before these useless ego boost projects.

A mars mission doesn't sound too good for a country where the masses wear dhoti and are severely malnourished.

Enlight us whether it suits your country of origin... if so we can chat else keep chewing the chewing gum....

Accepted... but can you send one in $75 Millions ($1 Million more than ours).

That's literally like within 5 years ago. And pretty much every major space organization works with NASA, including Russian ones.

Why don't you quit posting on threads like this too.

If ever you feel an urge to post on a thread... remember that your country's per capita is not yet $10000 and people are suffering abject poverty... don't post.
Basic human rights should come first before these stupid and useless posts...... so please don't post.

LOl... So you mean to say you would start research only after you are a wealthy country. By that time you would be pushed to the Stone Age. How would you bridge the gap?

USA did what you guys did some 40-50 years ago. You guys have literally just replayed what they did with no real benefit to science lol. I bet most ppl consider this mission laughable considering Indian ppl wear dhotis a want to flee India

I just pointed out reality. India is dirt poor and the local masses want to migrate to other countries yet sending useless space missions lol. Don't be a laughing stock of the world.

Empowering these people ARE the benefit, dumbass.

There very well could be a Von Braun or a Elon Musk in there.

You are free to laugh.. When we launched Chandrayaan you laughed , but we found water on Moon. A breakthrough Discovery.

You are laughing now. India if finds presence of Methane and if its Bio in nature, then we would be remembered for ever in being the first nation to confirm life on Mars.

Our primary Aim is not to detect anything on Mars. The Primary objective is as below.

The primary objective of the Mars Orbiter Mission is to showcase India's rocket launch systems, spacecraft-building and operations capabilities. Specifically, the primary objective is to develop the technologies required for design, planning, management and operations of an interplanetary mission, comprising the following major tasks

  • design and realisation of a Mars orbiter with a capability to perform Earth-bound maneuvres, cruise phase of 300 days, Mars orbit insertion / capture, and on-orbit phase around Mars;
  • deep-space communication, navigation, mission planning and management;
  • incorporate autonomous features to handle contingency situations.
The secondary objective is to explore Mars' surface features, morphology, mineralogy and Martian atmosphere using indigenous scientific instruments.

Dont be bothered about the over enthusiasm of ours..we were able to successfully insert the orbiter bcoz we learned from the past mistakes of other space agencies.,we learned what all could go wrong while entering mars atmosphere..past endures of nasa and other space organizations helped us achieve this feet..
