Agree.
The current FCS in fighter aircraft maintains stability in asymmetric loads..... so I do not agree with this notion that two antiship missiles are not carried due to instability after initial weapon launch. The reason for carrying a single missile is probably the need for 2 fuel tanks.
I do hope that in block III improvements we also work on getting multiple AAMs on a single hardpoint. Something like in this picture would work. Yes JF17 is a light multirole aircraft but 2 BVRs in this age are just not enough for a front line fighter which is most likely to be scrambled with...
Time is needed for upgradation yes. However i am not sure - and i dont think anyone outside the program will ever be - if the "delay" (if any) is normal/expected or is it something out of the ordinary from our Chinese partners. One would not be looking at all possibilities if one does not wonder...
I have been thinking forever that there should be a series like this on the PAF and wondered why The History Channel never did it - but then you can sense their bias in their narration in the dogfight series. Would have done something myself but my job keeps me very busy. I commend you and am...
Perhaps because of the video that circulated on the same day with him celebrating infront of a JF17.
I remember him commenting that everything was 'very professional' later in one of the released videos about the operation. Or maybe i am completely wrong.
Anyway he did extremely well and we are...
You mean those images made/edited with MS paint is the proof? Because of that embarrassment Bill Gates will curse the day Microsoft made that program (not that it was any good anyway).
These missiles were attached to the Mig-21 which was shot down - still with its fuel tank attached as well. As far as I know the IAF has not made any claim about firing any R-77. Further discussed in another thread.
There seems to be a general improvement in motor skills in every profession needing it with each new generation. Millennials, Gen X etc are quicker to learn with better FINE motor skills IN GENERAL. Some attribute it to better methods of education, availability and earlier exposure to video...
Hi
Its not about affording to lose an aircraft; the reason F16s were not used for strike was a political/diplomatic decision by PAF IMO. This probably was one of the reasons the US shut India up when they cried about Amraams. JF17s were used for strike as well as CAP/counter-air which was a...
Hi
Agree that historically Democrats have not been good for us. The first time in history a US president OPENLY sided with India in a conflict with Pakistan was Bill Clinton in the Kargil war.
I remember when he visited India about 20 years ago and our foreign office was scrambling to get him...
Historically Democrats have not been as willing as Republicans to sell military hardware to Pakistan. Post COVID, India can give more business opportunities to the US than Pakistan and I think US will go for it. Foreign policy unfortunately is not our forte compared with India.

I think fuel capacity has been increased from Block II onwards if I remember correctly.
The talk about improvement in safety features of RD93 (for used in single engine aircraft) made me think about the previously discussed loss of JF17 over the Arabian sea.
