Eating habits have very less to do with religion, and more to do with local conditions like availability, abundance or scarcity of food. Hindus in WB, South (esp Kerala) and Uttarakhand are non-veg. Coastel areas have abundance of fish, so hindus eat fish there, Uttarakhand have harsh weather...
