54 years ago, 114 Men of Charlie Company fought to the last Man.

You can't be captured without surrendering. Otherwise you would just get shot.

Well actually the KIA in the Chinese report I believe is split into KIA, wounded, and MIA with MIA being KIA at this point. POWs are not usually counted as wounded.

I believe the Indian KIA in that report includes wounded. Even so the amount of POWs is staggering. It really shows how much effort the PLA took in trying to keep the war as humane as possible. Against an country that the China hates the effort to encircle instead of complete annihilation would...

Well said. Its not that we don't want to admit that they were brave but with the humongous embellishment added it only belittles Chinese soldiers as incompetent to a criminal degree. A kill to death ratio that high would imply that India would have simply steamrolled Chinese advances but that...

Stories are just stories. Its entirely inconsistent with the numbers involved since it is literally higher than the entire wars. Its not that hard to understand that a single battles casualties can not be higher than a wars casualties. Also its impossible to count casualties after getting...

I mean I'm not that surprised but damn if they're going to lie at least make it believable. I literally never post anymore but when i see crap like this thread even i can't hold back anymore.

I mean its actually sad that some people would actually believe these stories. Not only do the numbers not add up it requires complete suspension of disbelief to believe that an army that was completely routed pretty much everywhere it fought during the war could even count enemy deaths never...

Wow thats only 578 more Chinese killed in a single battle vs the entire Sino Indian war. Also love how they counted all those bodies after all of them died in the battle.

Military technology in Asia and the rest of the world judged

make your own list if you like. The gepard 3.9 class corvette in the VPN is 1500 tons and by other naval standards is merely a corvette. And with this statement you put yourself in a similar boat compared to the major powers mentioned in this thread.

Military technology in Asia and the rest of the world judged

These are the countries that spark debate on this forum. The others are generally not really argued over. Perhaps i should be more clear. These military capabilities are based on their relationship to other countries on the list and their kind of war that would entail if such conflicts arise...

Military technology in Asia and the rest of the world judged

This chart is somewhat meaningless in the context of this post. It shows quantity but not quality and only includes three out of the 8 countries mentioned. to be frankly honest most of the countries on that graph are not worth mentioning

Military technology in Asia and the rest of the world judged

Is that what you got from this post after fully reading it? If so I would consider reading it again. Honestly speaking that is not the intention of the post whatsoever. In fact it highlights the disparity between the countries in a small group of selected countries with Vietnam being at the...

Military technology in Asia and the rest of the world judged

In my opinion naval power is not always based on projecting power to other countries but defending core interests with impunity. Russia still has the most dangerous, advanced, and large submarine fleet after the United states by far. While its surface fleet is much weaker the underwater...

Military technology in Asia and the rest of the world judged

All standards are compared to the leading military leader which is the United States which is undisputed.

Military technology in Asia and the rest of the world judged

quality and quantity are intrinsically meaningless without comparison and stating you have your own standards makes 0 senses as this thread is a comparison between the standards of the countries involved. So one country will have a higher or lower standard. That is what this thread is about...

Military technology in Asia and the rest of the world judged

Im talking of quality and quality vis a vis these other countries specifically. They will be held to the same standards or lack of thereof.
