India’s Mars orbiter completes six years at the red planet, but where is the science?

India is a nation of 1.3 billion people. Why do you expect all of them to agree on anything? There will be people who think space research is a waste. Do you have a count of all the people (lets limit it to experts only) who actually agree that Indian mission was worth it? To come to conclusion...

India’s Mars orbiter completes six years at the red planet, but where is the science?

Its not secretive NASA then its more like DARPA. Then I doubt the budget is just 36 million dollars. There MUST be dark funds. India has something similar too. Its called DRDO and its allied agencies and companies.

India’s Mars orbiter completes six years at the red planet, but where is the science?

Why it needs to be either or? ISRO is doing both. There is a reusable launch vehicle project based on SCRAMjets (it tested SCRAMjets in 2016 with net thrust). In its budget of 1.8 billion dollars 70 million is a peanut. Besides, it earned those 70 millions many times over by offering commercial...

Then in that case first ask europeans to close their "low profitable" Anianespace before pointing finger at Antrix and Indian space program. Besides, Lets see. Antrix is making 41000 Lakhs on a revenue of 170901.62 Lakhs. Thats 24% operating income. I don't know about you, but I consider 24%...

India’s Mars orbiter completes six years at the red planet, but where is the science?

You do know that ANTRIX which markets launch capabilities of ISRO actually makes profit, don't you? Even if I put 70 million dollars as their marketing budget, they are still net positive at 45 million dollars profit. By the numbers, ISRO has done way more than most of the Indian departments.
