Defence & civil N cooperation will dominate Francois Hollande's visit; cooperation on rail infra

What/who is your source? This is very surprising, it is the first time that a foreign contingent is marching in the RD parade, since it began in 1950. I wonder what's going on. The media is missing this very significant development.

Aadvanshi Veer Sena to protest against WWE tour; demands apology for insulting Indian flag

I don't understand why people watch this make-believe stuff anyway. Scripted shows with actors. Why this is entertaining to anybody, is a mystery. To each his/her own, I suppose.

8 lakh Hindus converted every year: VHP general secretary

I mentioned "ghar wapasi" in my post before you replied. Ghar wapasi is also constitutional, as is any conversion to Islam. As long as the choice is voluntary. I don't know about the success or failure of "ghar wapasi", but they have a right to try. Non-coercively. If you have links to...

8 lakh Hindus converted every year: VHP general secretary

That is true, and that goes both ways. From any religion to any other or none. Pakistanis here often criticize the "ghar wapasi" campaign. That too is a fundamental right, if the choice is voluntary. The constitution guarantees not only freedom to practice, but also to profess one's religion.

8 lakh Hindus converted every year: VHP general secretary

How many countries have been sanctioned for not being Christian, by the commision? Since it is entirely made up of Christians, as you point out, they have a Christian agenda - that's what you are implying, right? So which country have they sanctioned unfairly? For advancing Christianity? India...

a beautiful post about north korea

Do you find North Koreans on any other forum? Anywhere on the internet? Unless you are very naive and misinformed, you are being disingenous. You know that the govt of N Korea does not allow internet access to most people. Nor do they allow North Koreans the freedom to visit another country...

Explaining the history of Masood Azhar’s Jaish-e-Mohammad, the mystery of its re-emergence | The Indian Express The Jaish struggled for years to get a foothold in Kashmir after that, and the J&K Police and other security agencies were able to consistently foil its plans. Protestors shout...

8 lakh Hindus converted every year: VHP general secretary

What do you think that commission does? Propagate the state religion? No, and there is no state religion. The commission does not promulgate Christianity, if that's what you are implying. Its job is to monitor and review the extent of religious freedom in the world. I'm not sure what that has...

8 lakh Hindus converted every year: VHP general secretary

Christianity stopped being an official part of the state machinery a while ago. BTW Hinduism also was very much part of politics, the only difference being that it didn't seek to conquer or convert people outside the subcontinent. Hindu kingdoms always existed as an interweaving of "church"...

a beautiful post about north korea

@jamahir : Please answer the question somebody asked before - why isn't there a single North Korean here on PDF? Why is it left to you, who has never been to North Korea, to sing its praises? Why isn't anybody from that "beautiful city" of Pyongyang here, explaining its beauty to us?

8 lakh Hindus converted every year: VHP general secretary

Correct, and that's true for Europe too. The European nations became stable political entities after the idea of separation of church and state took hold. Until then, protestants and catholics, orthodox and catholics, etc were duking it out in bloody conflicts. Separation of church and state is...

8 lakh Hindus converted every year: VHP general secretary

That's so simplistic, and wrong. Hindus didn't decide to get together and stay in one place, they were already in that place. The reason for that is that hinduism by its nature was wedded to the Indian subcontinent, while Islam always thought of itself as a religion that would spread over the...

Pathankot Attack: Shouldn't a Younger Force Guard Airfields?

Several mistakes there. I wish I could address them in order, but I'm in a hurry. 1) RR was raised for counter-insurgency, not counter-terrorism. The NSG was raised for counter terrorism and hostage rescue. Short, swift counter terrorist operations would not dilute the army's conventional...

Pathankot Attack: Shouldn't a Younger Force Guard Airfields?

You can see from this thread, and from all over the Indian media, that is isn't just our neighbours who have these misconceptions. People thrillingly listen to these fancy titles of "black cats", "garuds", "paracommandos", "special forces" (only the MARCOS was missing) and so on being "rushed...

Pathankot Attack: Shouldn't a Younger Force Guard Airfields?

There are hundreds, if not thousands of military installations. (Some small, some behemoths.) We cannot have a parallel army of young, tough, special force guys guarding all of them. Sentry duties are different from warfighting. It is foolish to make young, fit people do sentry duties, for the...

Pathankot Attack: Shouldn't a Younger Force Guard Airfields?

When terrorists attacked a PAF base, they destroyed two eyeries, the highest valued and prized assets in the entire Pakistani military. After that, when terrorists attacked a naval base, they destroyed two more prized assets, the orions. When terrorists attacked one of the largest airbases in...

U.S. Army massacres Indians at Wounded Knee

Dropping bombs on civilians was the rule, in WW2. In fact, the fire bombings of Dresden and other cities caused more loss of lives than the nukes did. The firebombing of Tokyo remains the single most destructive air raid in history. It was called strategic bombing, and that is what every air...

UPDATE: Indian Airforce Base in Tajikistan

Lack of suitable water bodies. The few large inland lakes in India are all hot tourist destinations. *They don't have to choose between India and Pakistan. They can build roadways to connect with their neighbours, including Pakistan, and they can host military bases for friendly countries...
