Russian warships cross Turkey's Bosphorus Strait, en route to Syria

It has been "inside Turkey territory" since 1453 and rest assured will not belong to anyone else for a long time. And middle of ocean? Looks like someone slept through his geography classes

Iran to Teach High School Students How to Hunt Drones

One should ask himself/herself a few questions -- What is the "news" in this article if there is any. -- Who does this article target for audience -- What is the purpose

Iran to Teach High School Students How to Hunt Drones

I don't get it. How are high school kids supposed to hunt drones? Is the government going to be distributing AA missiles to schools now or perhaps sophisticated EW equipment? Also don't you guys think that the techniques emloyed to hunt/hijack into drones should be kept secret? If it really is...

Turkey suspends selling Anka to Egypt as a punishment

Exactly, idiots probably don't know that companies like Aselsan, Roketsan ...etc were created after 1974 arms ambargo on Turkey. Aselsan specifically started with with less than 20 employees assembling walkie talkies. I guess they can't believe the long way we have come and I can't really blame...

Akinci & Aksungur and Turkish Unmanned Fighter Aircraft Program

Turkey has developed it's own alterntive for hellfire named UMTAS. In the latest exibition a modified version dedicated to be used on UAV were shown. Also AFAIK Cirit missile can be used as a cheaper/lighter alternative. I don't have 30 posts so cannot attach pics directly but here are some...

    Iran shahed 278 helicopter

The two differences I see is that the cockpit window is concave up in Shahed-278 and concave down in Bell. Also the addition of horizontal stabilizer near tail rotor. Besides these details they look identical to me too.

Expert | Israel attack on Iran ' imminent '.

As far as I know US refused to sell MOP (Massive Ordnance Penetrator) to Israel which is needed to destroy some of underground enrichment labs so I doubt israel can launch a successfull attack all alone.

Turkey suspends selling Anka to Egypt as a punishment

Looks like some of our persian friends including those pretending to be Egyptian are dislexic and cannot read ... Where did I see the exact same trolling ?? Oh yes in the main ANKA thread. defence.pk/forums/turkey-defence/56273-turkish-indigenous-male-uav-tiha-29.html As one of my compatriots...

    Turkey has ordered 1 F-35A and 1 F-35C

I think this is a very short sighted comment. 1-First of all, this ship can only carry so many troops. You can't even invade a 3rd world country with a few hundred marines. If you think this ship will be used to conquer any distant country you are very wrong. The most it can do is act as a...

2,000 foreign troops to be deployed to Turkey-Syria border: Report

I am by no means knowledgeable on this topic. However, AFAIK PAC-3 can only intercept missiles in terminal phase, that is, the last ~30 seconds of impact with it's limited range. In order to protect istanbul or Ankara, the missiles will have to be engaged in midcourse or earlier phases which...

2,000 foreign troops to be deployed to Turkey-Syria border: Report

I am afraid that is boloney. Turkey does not operate patriots. As far as I know, there isn't a single personnel in Turkey who is trained to use these systems. How long do you reckon it would take to train 2000 Turkish personnel to operate these systems? Even if they pass through a few months of...

New Boeing 737 AEW&C (Peace Eagle) Pictures

Not all 737s have winglets. I know for sure the -600 series (and maybe -900) don't have them either. To quoate a link which I cannot post here (< 15 posts): The Wedgetail AEW&C design is based on a hybrid 737 airframe, combining the -600 fuselage and -700/800 wing. So it may as well be an...

Turkish hackers deface Pakistani Google Webpage

Turkish hackers deface Pakistani Google Webpage

It actually does :) Their intention is most clear from the footnote "Dostlara selam Olmedik hala yasiyoruz!" which translates to "hello to friends. We are not dead but alive!" These kinds of groups live on publicity. What they do is deface websites and submit them on internet lists for...

Turkish hackers deface Pakistani Google Webpage

They might very well be Turkish. Internet is full of these "script kiddies". I administer servers for a living and god knows how many times my public servers come under attack (sometimes several hundered/day). From the looks of it, seems like buch of kids trying to make a name for themselves. I...

Roketan Cirit Launchers Installed At Karakols (Outposts)

TR.1 I think you are confusing UMTAS with cirit. UMTAS is an anti-tank MISSILE designed to take on MBT's and as you have mentioned, it can lock-on a tank's infrared signiture. Cirit is simply a 70'' ROKCET with a semi-active laser guidance, not infrared. Target can be "designated" from many...

AH-1W Super Cobras are in service for Turkish Army

Captured terrorists say as soon as they hear the sound of cobras, they stop whatever they are doing and start running for their life. These cobras, even without a single bullet, save lives.

Does Turkey have Cyber Defence department?

There is a branch of TUBITAK named BILGEM (Bilisim ve Bilgi Guvenligi ileri teknolojiler arastirma merkezi). I have also heard of a "genelkurmay elektronik harp daire baskanligi" but can't find any info on it.
