I'd kindly suggest you read the wiki link, it is a great starter regarding the S-300 crisis. It is a very interesting subject, especially if you review the way it competely broke the Cypriot government, which collapsed in short order.
Greece never "easily got" the S-300. Cyprus did. Having said that, the US was readily opposed to the missiles coming to Cyprus, as expected. They couldn't really do much though, since there was already an embargo in place towards Cyprus (it was lifted in late 2019).
More here if you are...
Yeah..the announcement was a little weird, the program has not even reached the EMD phase yet. They are on track according to all public information, but talking about LRIP is a little premature, isn't it?
So, you have indeed completely misunderstood my prose, intent and good faith in this.
It seems that what your compatriots messaged me about your posting habits - especially wrt trolling and flamebaiting - is true.
I will be putting you on ignore now. Good day.
If you are truly working against the interests of Israel and the United States, you are going to "have the problems" anyway*.
*Hint: You really aren't. Turkey has been a valuable ally to both for many decades.

Also, pretty insulted that the Frenchies managed to snatch this one from us..

Many thanks for the prompt answer. Could someone share some news articles for what is happening right now?
Thank you for your insight. What does Greece have to do with the discussion at hand?
I don't really know about the "buying protection" part, but due to the arms embargo in the region (that was lifted late last year IIRC) Cyprus was always a traditional buyer of French weapons. From helicopters to main battle tanks, and from IFVs to missiles of all kinds.
If I could wager a...
Is that supposed to be rare for non military equipment? Where you do think most of my kitchen appliances come from?

Greece and Turkey traditionally hold significant trade and tourism relations. And contrary to what some nationalists from each side of the Aegean may say, the two countries are NATO allies, with significant military interconnection in training and missions for many decades now.

Viewing this from an objective, real politik point of view, this is actually not a bad outcome for Turkey. The Navwarn essentially tested the Greek maximalistic position, and the outcome was a brief status quo ante reset with a very important asterisk thrown in. *This area is now pretty much...
My understanding so far is that Turkey decided to "test the waters", if you will with this particular navwarn. Most experts on seismographic surveys were saying that there really wasn't enough time given in the navwarn (until Aug 5) for any serious survey to be done anyway.
In any case, Oruc...
As expected, Greece (and Cyprus separately) have issued today their own navigation warnings for the area.
