Platform Screen Doors (PSD) can easily fix that problem. Apart from what you’ve mentioned, a third rail looks much less cluttered and is, therefore, easier on the eyes.
Hopefully, in due course, south Asians will grow out of it just like the west has. I like that we still have old bazaars, though, and it’s important that they be patronised as much as possible in order to never lose them.
Once Colombo gets a proper public transport system (which is a HUGE drawback) and slightly more wide-spread nightlife along with a more up to date airport terminal, it will be pretty sweet.
Mate, big shopping malls are boring IMO. Not sure why having the biggest mall is somehow supposed to be a badge of honour for any city/country. I’d rather go to a nice standalone shop that sells amazing things, or even a small-ish mall that’s high-end with high levels of quality.
