Baykar Opens Office in Pakistan’s National Aerospace Science & Technology Park (NASTP)
Turkish Aerospace Giant, Baykar, has taken its place at the National Aerospace Science and Technology Park (NASTP) in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, whose official opening ceremony was held on Friday, August 4...
Thats an article from 1998. lol
I guess we will see, I don't see much prospects for Tejas exports to Argentina. Indian media seems to really like blowing smoke up the asses of their public. Like how Tejas was going to be exported to Malaysia, or UAE, and in the end other companies ended up...
Any buyer is going to be hesitant acquiring Russian Subsystems, in fear of getting CAATSAed. Way too much of a mess acquiring a plane with a russian seat, an American engine, and and avionics from various places.
Have they got an alternative to the Martin Baker ejection seat? and the British refueling probe? Otherwise this is a trivial matter. The UK will not allow for exports of anything that can be turned around and used for any attack on the Falklands, which it went to war with Argentina over in the past.
Everything on that plane except for the Martin Baker ejection seat and the F110 engine is built inhouse. And the F110s are license produced in Turkey, the engine will the be replaced by a domestic engine later on.
This is a domestic build, its different from the F-16 Viper acquisition that is currently stuck in congress.
@MMM-E can you do a F-16V vs F-16 Ozgur comparison please?
yes I know that. But also remember that supercruise is also dependent on aircraft design, for example, the F-16XL was able to supercruise with the same F110 engines. Whereas the F-35 which probably has the most advanced engine on any aircraft, cannot supercruise.
It was an unrealistic project given Pakistan's ability. It was more PR than anything else. The people in charge of Pakistan's R&D and acqusitions aren't the brightest IMO. They haven't even created the subcomponents of a fighter plane(radar, missiles, etc) and immediately jumped to the end. The...
Excalibur has been worth its weight in gold in Ukraine, highly useful and its still cheaper than Guided Rocket strikes from HIMARS. its the sweet spot between a Guided Rocket Artillery and an Artillery shell. It definitely has a use. Its been exported successfully to many countries b/c of its...
Its going to be a while before Azerbaijan would receive the KAAN, b/c its very unlikely that congress would allow the export of the F110 engines to Azerbaijan. So either they would have to wait for the TUSAS engine to be ready or the aircraft may need to be reengined with a WS-15 or something.
Idk going by the entire incident where misidentifying your own aircraft on radar ended up killing your own guys in a helicopter, along with the DRDO corruption, exchanging state secrets for Bobs and Vagine pics, late timelines on delivery and defective equipment, I'd feel quite confidant If I...
You know the F110 didn't just stay undeveloped since the initial batch were built right? China/Russia are flying W-10Cs and AL-41s which are from a similar class and generation.
There is no operational 5th gen engine of this class out there besides the ones Pratt and Whitney built for the F-22...
