China and Pakistan to hold joint Air Force exercises

Other fighter aircraft pilots need exposure too. Enough has been done for now on the available JF-17 package.

    Pakistan UAVs News & Discussions

Mushshak/Mi-17s are only good for watch-over missions in FATA. When your enemy has no proper airdefence + the target sector is in reachable distance. C-130s equipped with similar systems have much endurance and more 'human-strength' involved; complete change in mission planning can be done in...

Pakistan's Airborne Early Warning and Control Aircrafts

The issue is not with PAF, its with us all as a nation; we literally work when its UTMOST urgent 'sarr pe parti hai tau kaam kertay hain'. Whenever an incident happen, then those old SOP manuals are opened. Minhas/Mehran/GHQ and similar attacks on police training centers/central jails...

Pakistan's Airborne Early Warning and Control Aircrafts

First we need to accept the reality that we are in WAR, no matter how peaceful it look from media reports the threat exist (and it continue to remain until US is in Afghanistan). Unfortunately our security forces did not learn from each others mistakes; they did for small period of time...but...

Pakistan's Airborne Early Warning and Control Aircrafts

Times have changed my friend. Asset and Information security is now HOT topic in PAF. So, If you see new hangars and claims to know something then you know Jack about them. Soon you'll be seeing similar hangars on other bases.

    Special Services Wing

Most probably air defence. SSW now also holds the responsibility for train ground combateers for base/asset security role (earlier it was merely ceremonial duties, things have changed now) . But command of these men is under OC Admin/Gp Capt of the base.

    Special Services Wing

I think there is no defined HQ for SSW. They have reserved training sites in Kalabagh, Kohat and some other area. Kalabagh IMO can be referred as center for SSW.

    Pakistan F-16 Discussions 2

I like the speech about 'sovereignty and pride'...but 23 years have been since last sanctions on Pakistan; nothing has changed so far. You military is in-love with US weapon systems. Chinese systems are good but your adversaries and pacing up really fast. To get close you need BIG procurement of...

Pakistan's Special Operations Forces: SSG | SSGN | SSW | SOW | SOG

Special forces and their love for "murghi" . I have seen a video of SSW men tasting hen in the same way, among those who have tasted frogs, hen and snake mostly like taste of snakes :)

    Pakistan F-16 Discussions 2

Its too early to say but AmeriKees are finally agreeing to loose the 'alleged strings' on F-16s. With passage of time, rebuild of US trust on PAF (and arrival of similar/advance technology in the region Air Forces) the leniency shall increase. I can-not comment on details; but the F-16s image...

Any clue about these PAF pilots

That is some old digital img processing work by me. I recall uploading it on Flickr some 4 years ago. Pl. go through description and posts there you'll find all detail. Link

UAVs could extend the range of anti-tank missile systems

That might have its weather related limitations just like LGBs? Conceptually its possible that a launched missile is relayed to UAV, but pre-requisites should be. 1. Electronic battle field is up-and-running with AWACS support and all networking interfaces working together. 2. UAV is available...

F-60 / J-31 stealth fighter aircraft for Pakistan Air Force?

Forget both till 2018, even PLAAF may not get these by then. Mature and trust-worthy platform is not so easy-to-get, especially when your are talking about an advance(and complicated) air frame with the best avionics. Ref to ACM Tahir's interview in Janes posted by you. Interesting play of...

Pakistan's Airborne Early Warning and Control Aircrafts

I believe it is not delivered yet. Kamra incident aside, I think PAF should align profiles of ZDK-03/Saab-2000 AEW&C with blinders Falcons. Such assets should be kept to limited sites, with access to limited personnel. Similar changes should be done in their routine operations.

    PAF F-6 beat F-14 Tomcat

Well your saracasm aside, this (and many such incidents) have happened. Only they are not reported in media with "chest pumping" captions. Umair, Not sure about 2001, but similar encounter did happened in Midlink'96 with USN F14s and F-6. Alan warnes has hinted the same incident in F-6...

Major breakthrough: LeJ hit squad chief arrested, IB tells Nawaz

Please elaborate. Lala Masjid Op, Bugti Op and even to some extent FATA/Waziristan Op'2004 was not required. Each time he (and his 'YES men' both in military and politics) refused to sit on the table with other side..the result it what you see in daily news reports.

JF-17 Thunder Multirole Fighter [Thread 5]

Apart from the financial issues / budget allocation to PAC; It seem that PAF wanted operational strength of pilots (and trained men) over numbers of IOC/undergoing-test JF-17s. More than 2 years have been spent in researching for 2nd batch and developing training paradigms, Now its time that the...

F-60 / J-31 stealth fighter aircraft for Pakistan Air Force?

Based on the reports / hints by Chinese media/internet; It is believed that J-31 would be a production/export version stealth aircraft. The design hints that too; at least the engine has reusable/similar components to RD-93/WS-13 series. As compare to its predecessor's (J-20) design J-31 looks...
