Islam gaffe candidate Banister quits Australia election

lol pretty hilarious. She had no chance of being elected anyway, unlike Sarah Palin who was elected governor of a state. This girl belongs to an extremist party that barely anyone votes for.

Ashes 2013: Australian prime minister criticises umpires

You don't have to know a lot about cricket to see the decision was stupid. It was that CLEAR the ball didn't hit the bat that everyone in the crowd saw. The umpire ignored it, he then ignored the video hot spot footage that showed the ball did not hit the bat. You don't have to know a lot...

Ashes 2013: Australian prime minister criticises umpires

It is probably the worst umpiring decision ever made in the history of cricket and i'm not just saying that because im Australian. It was appalling. Even the hot spot camera showed it didn't hit the bat yet the umpire still calls out.

Australia Urges UN Court to Ban Japan Whale Hunt

I think the worst thing about it is that they pretend the whale hunt is for scientific purposes. also it's happening in Australian Antarctic waters.

Yes, it is but i think it's only worth it if they are advocating and supporting terrorism in Australia. All you need to do is ring the National Security Hotline and give them the exact link to the post and explain to them what the content of the post is and that the member says they are from...

Cost of Australian combat soldier's kit soars to $27,700

What you don't realize is that they have body armour under their uniform you cant see that protects their groin area and lower body etc. Go back to the first post and look at the picture and the descriptions of each part. The reason they don't have the area covered with 1 piece of armour is for...

Cost of Australian combat soldier's kit soars to $27,700

Nothing in the kit is really that much "sophisticated" nor is it "princess" it's all great kit that will help the soldier fight better and be more mobile which can mean the difference in a fire fight. It's why only 40 Australian soldiers have died while they have killed literally 1000's of Taliban.

Australia's first Muslim frontbencher abused for "taking oath on Quran"

It shouldn't be done. The only reason it is done is because most of the parliament is christian.

Australia's first Muslim frontbencher abused for "taking oath on Quran"

My opening line was "Government Ministers/Secretaries shouldn't be swearing on any sort of religious book" But religious politicians who take the religious oath of office are more likely going to respond to debates/votes in parliament with a religious agenda, just look at the abortion debate.

After bullying Indians, now Australians take on Hong Kongese

Ah yes, i'v missed Hafizzz's fake thread titles that don't represent what the news story is actually about in a desperate attempt to slander Australia. Apparently 2 individuals doing something stupid = Australians(23 million people) are "bullying" "Hong Kongese" epic fail :disagree:

Australia's first Muslim frontbencher abused for "taking oath on Quran"

I also find it a bit amusing that Aeronaut only seems to make threads about Australia ONLY when something negative arises that he knows will not go down well on a prominent muslim forum that defence.pk is.

Australia's first Muslim frontbencher abused for "taking oath on Quran"

Government Ministers/Secretaries shouldn't be swearing on any sort of religious book. Religion should stay the hell out of Government. I don't want laws based on religious teachings. We only need to look at Countries in the Middle East, the U.S and elsewhere to see what happens when governments...
