If PAF need the su35 type fighter now they can get a varient of j16 with al41 . But to afford this fighter is going to be a challenge for Pakistan. Not only this plane is expensive but has a very high cost to operate per sortie . It do brings in long range strike capability to paf

I think the time is right for paf to invest and upgrade 4 full mirage squadrons as a dedicated deep strike platform. I don't see them going away for next 10 years. To maintain 20 squadrons, paf need 4 full deep strike mirage squadrons complemented by 4 full f16 squadrons as we have today plus 12...

With changing threat perception and impact to Pakistan I believe PN should consider upgrading all 7-8 atr72 planned. Number 7-8 is assumed there is not fact behind this number
