That's just for IAF. Indian Navy will also be buying Rafales for ACC and ground base fleet. Total number of Rafales will be close to 300..
@PARIKRAMA, your source is a good source.:cheers:
With Rafale deal almost out of way, the only concern is with FGFA. IAF is looking to procure but where does the MOD stands on this? They need to sign the damn deal and get those 3 prototypes and start changing it to IAF specs.
My concern is, ever since PM Modi came to power, India has shyed...
They committed a crime and should be punished.
Indian court should have given them 1 year prison time along with $100,000 fine to ship owner for carrying unlawful weapons in Indian waters.
It is NOT wise to waste Indian Tax payers money on these foreign culprits.
Finally someone is here to put a stop on leaking classified information to public.
A law should be passed asap, if any govt official is caught passing classified information to anyone, will be charged under TRAITORS or ESPIONAGE law. Lifetime jail without bail.
@PARIKRAMA bro, that is DOVAL'S...
Get it outta him bro:agree:.
You know what I would LOVE to see? Imagine, French President signs the deal on Republic Day and hands over 2 RAFALES to IAF.:enjoy:
@PARIKRAMA please do thank your source from all of us on PDF and thank u for sharing some very interesting and solid info with us.:cheers:
Cheers yaar!!!!
90% availability will create a huge base of spare parts and services. This could be huge for manufacturing and make in India. Thousands of jobs, directly and indirectly will be created. I say go for it even if it costs us a little bit more, benefits will outweigh costs.
@PARIKRAMA , MOD would...
120-140 Rafales for Indian Navy, that's a huge number. I thought they will buy Rafale M for Vishal and a squadron for land base.
190 for IAF + 120 for IN. This is one hell of a order.
How good is the intel? What are delivery times for airforce and the navy?
U made me very happy man today. Thx
Isreal and India are currently working together on a upgraded model of 2052. All Tejas will be built using these radars. 60% of these radars will be built in India.
There was one condition on this agreement, that IAF will install upgraded ELTA’S 2052 to 1 more type of jet in IAF’S inventory...
Rafale is a true multirole fighter jet. It's a proud movement, Rafale jets will soon be MADE IN INDIA.
Check out what Indian Rafales would look like in reality.
It certainly is a welcoming news, but I'm now much more interested in Russia's new Radio-optical phased array radar. This Photonic radar is futuristic.
I would love to see India get their hands on this tech.
IAF's final Rafale numbers will be anywhere from 126-189.
Indian Navy won't buy Rafale's just because IAF is buying. They will most certainly look to see if it fits their operational needs. They have good strategic thinkers.
I'm sure they also know, IAF buying big numbers of Rafale and...
Didn't say numbers are not important, they are:agree:.
But, IAF is in a tight situation where there is no other choice than to reduce the squadron strength to keep the required squadrons.
Requirements of India is much much different than of china. First, China is atleast twice as big as India...
Indian airforce number game, we might be slightly short on the Jets being replaced. However, there is a huge technology leap. Newer planes means higher availability, more time in air ==== to higher numbers of sorties.
Second...............IAF will reduce the numbers of jets in each squadrons...
What we truly need is a high energy laser tunnel boring machines. These bad boys can bore upto 7 MILES PER DAY. usually powered by compact nuclear reactor. As the high energy hits the rocks, it melts the rocks away to a smooth glassy finish.
India has to start research and development on this...
