Some elements in Turkish Military attempt to overthrow government

They are going down swinging. It is scary.

Some elements in Turkish Military attempt to overthrow government

Unlike Pakistan, the govt in Turkey is actually quite popular. In Pakistan, if the Army decides to attempt a coup tomorrow, hardly anyone would oppose it.

Pakistan declares Burhan Wani a 'martyr', to observe July 19 as black day

They should also give him Nishan-e-Pakistan. It will be very appropriate.

No Pakistani qualifies for Rio 2016 Olympics

That one liner reminded me of the old times. That used to be a classic.

No Pakistani qualifies for Rio 2016 Olympics

Actually Lahiri is not a bad golfer. He has made quite a few cuts at majors and was top 5 at one of them for 3 rounds last year. Unfortunately I have no idea. There is a thread about Indian medal prospects in the members club, you will find more knowledgeable people there. Last time we won 6...

No Pakistani qualifies for Rio 2016 Olympics

Vijay Singh is not an Indian national. He is a Fijian of Indian descent. The best golfer in India rn is Anirban Lahiri. They might have a few overseas Pakistanis with dual citizenship. That has generally been the trend.

General Raheel condemns brutal killing of Kashmiri youth by Indian authorities

When are you coming to Kashmir to fight India like you said you would? I have been waiting for 5 years now. Internet jihad is not going to work.

SC restores Congress government in Arunachal Pradesh, says Governor's actions illegal

It may not, as far as AP is concerned. If I am not mistaken now there will be a floor test in the assembly and the Congress govt may not survive it. But in the larger scheme of things that's immaterial. This judgement is important because it sets a very clear precedent and now the central govt...

SC restores Congress government in Arunachal Pradesh, says Governor's actions illegal

It's quite ironic that a few days ago Modi made a huge deal about emergency (basically yet another politically motivated PR stunt from him like his every other move) which happened 40+ years ago but at the same time got rebuked by SC for trying to topple two democratically elected state governments.

South China Sea Arbitration News & Discussion

Pakistani cheerleaders aside, anyone who's seen the map of SCS knows how hollow Chinese claims are. They claim islands that are next door to other countries but hundreds of miles from Chinese land. Excellent decision by The Hague, Chinese bullying should be condemned.

Burhan Wani’s killing ‘deplorable’, violates Kashmiris’ rights: Pakistan

Not sure why my post was deleted? I don't think I broke any rule. If I did let me know which one. When you are talking about human rights of others you ought to be reminded of your own record and I am not even going too far in the history which is even darker. So here I am posting it again...

Nice assesment of Pakistan by Dr Shashi Tharoor

Not unfortunate for me, I don't follow Nagpur school of anti-national certification like you do which is built around the same principles of mullah school of kafir certification.

Nice assesment of Pakistan by Dr Shashi Tharoor

He may be factually wrong in his comment on GDP share but his overall appraisal of Pakistan Army and the role of its political establishment is completely correct. Even today, after 8 years of civilian governance things haven't changed much. The army chief is still the most important leader in...
