Indeed, but I'd prefer the PN to just stick with what it actually has - i.e. ATR-72. Just stick to the platform and build a fleet over the medium and long-term. If anything, they ought to consider strengthening the ATR-72's hardpoints such that it could use AShM.
Turns out that Leonardo (aka Finmeccanica aka Selex ES) isn't the only EW/ECM maker in Italy ... there's also Elettronica, which has provided solutions for the Typhoon, Tornado, and M2K-5.

No reason why the PN wouldn't go for the Y-8 or Y-9 - that platform is already in use in that environment, so the Navy will have an idea on how it fares by the sea. Whether it is ATR-72, C-295 or Y-8, they're all affordable platforms with plenty of customization and armament options, there's no...
The presentation within the aircraft was the reason why the PAF won. There was a lot - from the efforts of the armed forces in FATA over the years to their future technology aspirations (e.g. using UAVs to drop small smart munitions).
Guided bomblets use laser and IR to identify their targets; once ID'd, the bombs are explosively propelled towards their kill. It is a deadly effect - especially if you're able to pack 40 such bomblets into a single munition, and then lob at it an armoured column, air defence site, air field...
Besides the ATR-72 MP/ASW, I honestly believe there is a strong chance we'll see the C-295 MPA in PN colours too. Maybe not in the short-term, but in time as the P-3Cs age. The C-295 is an affordable and widely flown platform, but the C-295 MPA kit enables the aircraft to use both ASW torpedoes...
The P-3Cs will likely be done away with MPA variants of the ATR-72 and C-295.
The former is more obvious since the PN is in the process of inducting ATR-72 ASWs, but the C-295 is another affordable platform capable of ASW and AShW (in addition to maritime surveillance).
Personally, I'd go nuts...
I'd say MPA is more of a blanket term, one that can include aerial ASW and AShW platforms. For surveillance I've seen people use Maritime Surveillance Aircraft (MSA).
Not sure about CBU-105, but I would be surprised if the PAF isn't trying to seek a comparable system similar to it - especially since Pakistan signed an MoU in 2008 to actually develop 'precision-guided bomblets.'
According to Air Commodore Khalid Mahmood during the 2015 Paris Air Show, the idea of a dedicated chin hardpoint for targeting pods was being studied in Kamra, but alongside the feature set of the Block-III (e.g. AESA radar). But they were also studying of possibly having those chin stations on...
If there are three things Turkey could do to win a Pakistani order, it'd be the following IMO:
1. Commitment to provide Pakistan with sufficient MRO capacity to maintain a large fleet with as little foreign input as possible. Yes, support for the Honeywell/Rolls-Royce turboshaft will be...
The BREN has a relatively rapid iteration cycle. If factored in with it being cheaper (than SCAR or ARX), then in version 3 or version 4 the BREN could end up being the most balanced (cost and performance) option. That said, a Pakistan Army order would be a major boon for Beretta considering the...
