If Huawei signed a contract agreeing not to export these to sanctioned countries, which I'm sure it did as a prerequisite to importing US-made SoCs, then that does bring the company under US jurisdiction especially when US national security & safety is compromised.
Civil liabilities are usually for "less serious" violations, and (I'm guessing) carried out mostly by other companies for intellectual property theft and those kind of misdemeanors. A violation that threatens the national security of the US is a whole new ballgame and is deemed much more serious.
Flight testing still required even if there are no external changes. Deliveries will likely be to the IAF equivalent of the Pakistani TEF (Test & Evaluation Flight).
Less than a year from first flight to induction? Impressive speed, although I am a bit skeptical.
MK1A will likely spend a year or two performing state acceptance trials before achieving IOC.
From the article and additional talk, it seems that the Azerbaijan Air Force is looking to purchase a specialized Block II variant unofficially dubbed the Block II+. It is essentially a Block II derivative but with an AESA radar.
The deal is supposedly in its "final stages", so a verdict will...
Very interesting, I'm guessing there was a press conference?
Another source (Muzammil Hatami) stated that the Block III prototype would be publicly displayed in May 2019 but I'm not sure of his credibility.
When it signed contracts to purchase US subcomponents, it would've agreed to not violate US sanctions by re-selling its phones to prohibited countries. Huawei then knowingly violated this agreement, if US investigation turns out true, a proper response to which would be to bring its leaders to...
Don't be ridiculous.
Huawei fully knows that the US forbids its exports to reach Iran, and it was fully understood when Huawei decided to purchase chips for its smartphones from US suppliers. Now that they've violated that contract, it is up to their leadership to bear the consequences that...
JF-17 & J-10C are much more suited to carry a subsonic stealthy ALCM than a massive supersonic one that even the J-15 has difficulty equipping. PAF already has the Ra'ad option as well as a few Chinese ones: the GB-500C and GB-6A.
GB-500C with JF-17 (Zhuhai 2018):
GB6A with J-10B (Zhuhai...
It may interest some to know that the CH-7 shown at the 2018 Zhuhai Airshow was not a mockup or model but an actual engineering prototype, according to an interview with the developers.
The other stealth drone is likely a derivative of the Sharp Sword follow-on variant, which is rumored to...
Pretty sure that's just the opinion of the author or another commentator, even though the J-10C and Rafale are close counterparts to each other. And aren't the first Rafales supposed to be delivered in 2019?
Wait & see is the answer.
