    Gaza-Israel Conflict | October 2023

Conspiracy theorists may spin that as Israel is purposely leaving some rocket launchers intact so that it can point to them for continuing the war. If all rocket launches stop, people may start asking, look they can't launch rockets anymore, why don't you end the bombing campaign.

    Gaza-Israel Conflict | October 2023

It has been over 12 days, and I am getting a feeling that no one is working particularly hard in finding an end to this war. If this goes on for a few weeks, it may join Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Sudan, Somalia type endless wars. Media will lose interest and the war machine will go into 'automatic'...

    Gaza-Israel Conflict | October 2023

I feel this war is a tragedy and benefits no one. I was only making fun of the likelihood of Hamas having thought of having to fight a woman Commander in Chief of USA.

    Gaza-Israel Conflict | October 2023

But in fairness, Biden can probably request an Authorization for use of force renewal by text and Congree will pass it with a voice vote in the next hour, with as much procedural hurdle as naming a post office in Virginia as "Thomas Jefferson Post Office". I don't think I have heard one...

With President Harris as the Commander in Chief. That would be too much even for Hamas's war planners.

    Gaza-Israel Conflict | October 2023

President Biden just said Hamas attack is equivalent to Fifteen 9/11s. It is distressing that 9/11 has become the international unit of terrorism. Like the Kilotons (of TNT) used to measure weapon yields.

How Isreal attacked Gaza Hospital, My assessment.

Definitely it may be a war related accident. Some sort of combustibles stored near the hospital caught fire. Sometimes ammunition dumps have exploded because some idiot lit a cigarette. That is called an accident and not an attack.

Israel "navy' murders POW sailors stranded in water (taped themselves doing the crime)

I suggest you don't club Hamas and 'War'; Their actions are beneath what can be termed as 'War crimes' that are committed in the course of a war. Murder of innocents is not a war anywhere.

How Isreal attacked Gaza Hospital, My assessment.

If this is the video of the hospital tragedy, it appears to be a fire and not an explosion. Many flimsy structures are still standing intact. That wouldn't be with an explosion. It may not be an act of war, just a tragic accident.

On March 24 1971 - Pakistan Army arrested Sheikh Mujeeb & humiliated him

"British holding the nation together" has some qualifiers. India was a conglomerate of various sovereigns (to various degrees). British rule never even made a pretense of 'democracy', however imperfectly. Hence, they could rule through fiat. If authoritarianism is the model of polity, states...

On March 24 1971 - Pakistan Army arrested Sheikh Mujeeb & humiliated him

Leaders only last so long. If peaceful transfer of power does not enter the DNA of the polity, sooner or later there will be an imperfect leader and the train will derail. Tito was a great leader of Yugoslavia. But the Balkans broke up violently after him. Gorbachev was a great man but couldn't...

On March 24 1971 - Pakistan Army arrested Sheikh Mujeeb & humiliated him

I am of the opinion that an undivided India of 1947 would have suffered the fate of USSR (Break up 1988-1991) or Yugoslavia (Broke up in 1991/1992). Much less pleasant than break up of Czechoslovakia (1992). The differences between two approximately equal but vastly different cultures would have...

Israel "navy' murders POW sailors stranded in water (taped themselves doing the crime)

One is on extremely thin (sub atomically thin) ice to call them as POW. First, they don't belong to any recognized State's military. Second, Palestinian National Authority had not declared a war on Israel. In fact, it can't as it has no Army or Navy. This is like someone intruding into my house...

On March 24 1971 - Pakistan Army arrested Sheikh Mujeeb & humiliated him

You seem to be doing a lot of explaining why Pakistan has the problems it has. That deserves a full academic career. My question was a simple one: As an Indian, are you happy or unhappy that India you have is India of today and not what would have been if it had not been partitioned? To give an...

    Gaza-Israel Conflict | October 2023

It is not that simple. Israelis are still high on rage. What if they had some intel, good or bad, that there are some Hamas base/cache/people near/below the hospital and they lost their sense of balance (target value vs. loss of innocent lives)? It happened to U.S. too many times (all the...

    Gaza-Israel Conflict | October 2023

Considering this is 10th day and no other country has shown much enthusiasm in joining the war, I think any such call may be ineffective. Individual actions by non-state actors will quickly be labelled as terrorism and may draw harsh response from Israel with no ability by the affected countries...

Even in these moments of tragedy, there is room for some laughter. A Muslim advising a Jew about a Buddhist/Hindu theological concept.
