We have shariat law in place. Our laws never contravene shariat when it comes to common or criminal law related issues. In matters of corporate/finance and trade laws, the country aligns with the prevailing laws around the world.
I am well aware of that adage but it is apt when patriotism is used as a veneer to push fascism. Musharraf wasn't the hyper-nationalistic type who hid behind patriotism. He was pragmatic.
And this was the man that IK called "Ghattiya". For those wondering, look up a video on YT of IK with his young sons.
Musharraf was a patriot till his last breath. Nobody can take that away from him.
"وہ بہت بڑے انسان تھے ان کے دوست چھوٹے ثابت ہوئے ہمیشہ پاکستان فرسٹ ان کی سوچ اور نظریہ تھا،...
Frankly, even if you did, it would be yet another episode of "get out of jail card" for someone special. Assign blame to one entity, sub accha to the other. Hope you get what I mean here.
This is still playing out. I think things of this sort take a much longer time to manifest themselves. I am not disagreeing that we have paid a significant price for these policies, but whether they benefit us or not needs more time to be evaluated from the strategic lens.
At the very...

Why do we hold Kargil against him? I wonder all the time.
He did that to further Pakistan's Kashmir claim. In IK's time, our claim on IoK became a non-claim yet nobody holds that against the great Khan sahib.
Kargil is across the LoC, not IB. It is the Indian side which pushes the...
All those ranting about betrayal of FATA etc. by Musharraf should realize that had he not done what he did (call it running with the hare and hunting with the hounds if you prefer), Afghanistan would not be in the hands of Pashtuns. It would have been firmly in the hands of Northern Alliance...
Coming from the President of Pakistan is as formal as it gets.
It goes both ways. Pakistanis aren't lining up to visit or trade with BD either. Let's take stock of each other's stature before making such grand statements.
If Pakistan is extending a hand of friendship, take it. If not, then...
Musharraf did so in his visit to BD. You can look up what he wrote and it was as remorseful and forward looking as you will get from a Pakistani.
Keep in mind that in the Pakistan of today, none of the actors had anything to do with 1971 and any atrocities related to it. However, Pakistanis...
A good leader, solid soldier (SF officer) and a decent man. He defended Pakistan till his deathbed literally. He will be missed.
He is one of only few, in a land of shameless self-promoters, who owned up to his mistakes and asked for forgiveness of the nation:
"I hope the nation and the...
The PN officer behaved decently. I did not see him do anything wrong. The lady/his mother was in the wrong, the PN officer was not as far as I can see.
I am just bringing context to this claim that they all settle overseas etc. as has been mentioned ad nauseam on this forum. All people can barely manage is 5 names from an army with 400 general officers and even the names managed indicate nothing of a trend. Actually the inverse is the norm...
I don't spread lies, if anything I am trying to separate the wheat from the chaff. Think before shooting from the hip.
I could very easily settle this argument by asking you to provide proof that Kiyani and Bajwa have emigrated/permanently settled in the countries you claim. You have none so...
